Can anyone recommend a good endocrinologist in Northern Ireland or Dublin?

I have been taking 50mcg of levothyroxine for two months but haven't really improved any. Hoping to find a good thyroid specialist that could help me out.

Welcome to the forum. 50 mcg is a starting dose for many people and you should have been retested after about 6 weeks to monitor your progress. I've said how to correctly take this on a post above. I'm assuming if you are asking about seeing an Endo then you are not feeling much better if at all. I've explsined a little about that as well. It can feel like a long slow process to get the dose that is right for you but that is how it is. If your doctor thinks you are ok now then may be you should be talking at a different doctor in the practice but please post your results and we can advise you better then.

Thank you very much for your reply.

My latest blood tests my TSH level was 5.01 and free t4 level was 15.8. A month before this my TSH level was 5.08

My doctor started me on 25mcg levothyroxine and upped it to 50mcg after a month. Going back for bloods soon to see if it is helping any but still feel completely exhausted. He says he would raise the dose to 75mcg but probably not much higher than that.

Thanks for your help :)

Well good that he will test and then probably increase again. Your TSH is starting to fall so good as well but you will probably need it to go to around 1which he may not be willing to do. It also takes a while to see much change in your symptoms as they lag behind your readings. When you post your next results it is helpful if you put the ranges as well as they differ from lab to lab.

In the mean time try and learn as much as you can so you can understand more and ultimately in a better position to reason with your GP if need to. Lots of info on the Thyroid UK site including a list of possible symptoms. Make a note of the ones you have and expand on how you feel. Don't put terrible for fatigue for example but put how it impacts on your life and what time of day you are feeling like that. Be honest with yourself and that way you will be more aware of slight changes and know that you have progress however small. A lot of doctors seem to think you take the magic pills and that's it, better! In reality it's not like that, it takes time. I'm not trying to put a dampner on things but just saying don't expect too much too soon, baby steps is good! keep asking questions on anything you don't understand or if you have any concerns and someone will be able to help you.
