I mean I'm concerned x
If you have a copper coil inside you the chances are it could be increasing the copper level in your body. There is a relationship between zinc and copper in the body. When copper is high, zinc is low. When zinc is high, copper is low.
People who are hypothyroid generally have high copper levels and low zinc levels anyway. Thyroid hormones are essential for the body to absorb zinc apparently. With a copper coil and Hashi's you might be getting a double whammy making your copper levels extremely high and your zinc extremely low.
You could ask your doctor to test your zinc and copper levels, and since you have a copper coil they really shouldn't refuse in my opinion. If you can't persuade them to do so you could pay for zinc and copper testing yourself with a finger prick test, but unfortunately they are expensive.

If you check the symptoms of copper/zinc toxicity/deficiency and you think they might fit your symptoms it might give you ammunition to persuade a doctor you need testing.
I don't have hashis, but my adrenal and thyroid problems pretty much date back to when I had my copper coil removed.
I didn’t have the copper coil but I had the medina coil and I got Hashimotos around the same time. I had it taken out before being diagnosed but the symptoms continued. I’ve always thought the hormones were to blame. X
Thank you all for your informative feedback 😊
There are no hormones in IUD (copper coil).
I don't know much yet re thyroid and how it affects vitamins, salts and chemicals - but I do know IUD may cause heavy, longer bleeds- Make sure you are not anaemic though as that will also make you feel awful and lethargic.
