I just wondered how long after the expiration date can levothyroxine be taken - provided it is stored appropriately.

Nade, the manufacturers have to guarantee potency and condition for 3 years I believe. After that it can't be guaranteed. I don't believe it will suddenly lose all potency and crumble after 3 years + a month though.

Nade, probably, but there's no guarantee there won't be some loss of potency. I wouldn't hesitate to use it if I'd run out.
