Burning tongue syndrome
I've had this for 5 years. My GP was useless and eventually I self diagnosed. Mine started straight after I had a back tooth removed and my tongue is scalloped and feels too big for my mouth. Some days it is worse than others but I feel that since ive been diagnosed hypothyroid, it does seem to be slightly better. I have been taking B12 supplements and wonder if that s helping too. When I was researching it, the info was that it tends to last from 5-7 years but I don't know whether that is true! Sorry I have no advice for you. Clemmie
Get a B12 test. If you are very deficient the best way to get B12 is via injection for a few months. You would need to make sure that your stomach is producing enough acid to aid B12 absorption. Tablet supplementation might not work otherwise. You'd need a high dose injection anyway. Good article here about B12 peacewithendo.com/2015/01/c...
Sore tongue could be from something else but B12 deficiency is one reason. In terms of deficiencies I think iron or folate deficiency can cause the same problem. Try to get tested for those too.
Occasionally use non stick. Will stop for a while and see if that helps. Denise
Mine was like that a few years ago. I was found to be severely anaemic and had really low ferritin level. X
