You could start today, you know. The little bit of extra T4 will make no difference on just one day because its so slow to break down.

Can you tell I am not very patient?

Thyroid S is THE best thing I ever did!

Hi should I feel any different quite quickly? Xx

Yes, its pretty quick - days rather than weeks or months! However, it takes a while for the cells to adjust to the new supplies of T3 and they can get overwhelmed so take it slowly. The general advice is half a tablet more every two weeks, and lower your Levo by 37.5 for every half tablet you go up.

I have to say I didn't know that when I started, and just plunged in. I got away with it, but not everyone does.

Do I still have to take levo then?.... I'm confused on how much to take really I'm already on 150mcg levo xx

You don't have to take the Levo as well in the long run, but its advisable to switch over gradually. If the Levo is doing nothing, then its like starting the meds from scratch. If its doing something but not enough, then its like a gradual increase. Either way a sudden large slug of T3 can be a bit of a shock to the system, and make you quite unwell. You want to build up gradually until you feel well. Overshooting will make you jittery with a racing heart. If you do overshoot then its easy to rectify, one day without, and then back on a lower dose.

For a long time I used to collect the levo scrip from my doctor, and cash it in ( I am not sure whether they check to make sure you are taking it). That way I was able to tell the doctor I was taking both, and have access to the tests.
