Okay so the sought after Endo appointment is looming and I have got myself into a bit of a tizzy. I am currently taking 2 grains of Thyroid S and 12mg of Cytomel per day. At first this made me feel wonderful, however, I am not sure whether the festive season has had a negative impact but I am feeling sluggish and gaining weight again, anyway, I digress...
I am thinking of telling the Endo that I am self medicating with Thyroid S in desperation and seeing if he will prescribe NDT as it obviously made me feel better (we live in hope) I am also going to tell him of the supplements I have been taking, and mention the stage 3 kidney disease that my G.P decided to gloss over. I am thinking I should not take any of my medication or supplements for a couple of days prior to my appointment, to give an accurate reading..
Any other questions o tests you think I should be asking for?

Jacqui, it's enough to stop Thyroid-S 24 hours and Cytomel 12 hours before the blood draw. Iron should be stopped 2 weeks prior to a ferritin test. If you want a baseline B12 result you need to stop supplementing 8 weeks prior to a blood test. Take your other supplements after your blood draw.
Thanks for your advice, yes I will be asking him to check B12 folate and Ferritin. I will also be asking him to check Vit D and antibodies as I have not had them checked sine I was first diagnosed, many years ago.
