Trying to find post about recent study

Hi folks, there was a thread on here very recently about a new study that showed t4 monotherepy might not be the best option, I can't remember who posted it, but i meant to email the study to myself to read later, but I forgot to do it, and it can't find the post now. Does anyone remember it? I have an endo appointment today and was hoping to discuss it with them. Thank you for any help!

Maybe the research section on main TUK website will help - it has links to papers on this subject. (The most recent one, which may be what you're looking for, is at the top of the page).

RedApple, I noticed that Dr. Gary Pepper's study showing combo therapy worked for many who did not get along with Levo is not listed at the link. Can you get it added to the list? PR

New Study (released in 2015) Supports Experience that T4 Monotherapy Does Not Work

By Paul on Mon, 05/01/2015 - 10:18

Here is a new piece of research that further supports our experience that T4 monotherapy using Levothyroxine is problematic and cannot re-create our previously healthy levels of FT4 and FT3:

jci.org/articles/view/7...

The study in rats at present actually found that T4 monotherapy resulted in lower than required FT3 levels. This was corrected with continuous release of both T4 and T3 medication in an appropriate ratio.

I found this to be encouraging. Perhaps the science will eventually result in dismissal of the T4/Levothyroxine dogma we are faced with today.

Best wishes,

Paul

Thanks for that. There are so many interesting (but detailed!) studies I come across on here, but I am not always in the mood to digest them straight away, so I email them to myself to read later. I have quite a few saved that you have posted helvella, thanks for sharing them.
