no you cant get pip or disability allowence for thyroid problems sorry
Not sure about that, but you certainly can get PIP/ESA if you are totally disabled by ME or Fibromyalgia and it wouldn't be difficult to get that as a diagnosis. Your GP would probably be happy to give you a diagnosis for which there is no treatment, instead of treating your thyroid properly!
However if you mange to get to college or work sometimes, albeit late, then you probably wouldn't be considered disabled/sick enough. The great British system works well to make people sicker!!!
yes you can
Yes you can my DLA was awarded based on thyroid tho I had a long history of "mental health" issues which had always been difficult to get help with. Bythe time I'd spent a year in appeal I had become completely disabled by rheumatoid arthritis.... But the award had to be based on my health s year prior. I won medium care rate and low mobility rate for thyroid
ok mixed info here interesting......brilliant!
Flashinthepan, Hypothyroidism and other conditions per se don't entitle people to ESA or PIP. How the conditions impact on your ability to work and carry out day to day activities determine whether there is an entitlement.
If your doctor signs you off as too unwell to work and attend college you should be entitled to basic rate ESA £72.50. DWP will send you a form to complete which will assess your capability for placement in the Work Related Activity Group or the Support Group and you may be called for a face to face assessment after a few months.
ok no worries
