Over 10 years ago when employed in NHS I had the job of organising flu jabs for employees. Oddly ,the majority take up was from clerical and admin staff.I asked a consultant if she had one and she said not likely referring to cases of paralysis.

Had my ja this year!

It's a personnal choice. I've never had one and I never will. And nothing will ever convince me that I need to put yet another poisonous substance in my body.

Very helpful. Thank you for the natural news.com link. The last time I had a flu shot ended up in hospital six hours later. I have never had it since. I am now half way through reading Deadly Medicines and Organised Crime by Peter C Gotsche(co-founder of Cochrane Collaboration) This book has recently been awarded in the "Basis of Medicine" catagory - Winner of the First Prize at the British Medical Association's annual book awards. I recommend it to you all. Everyone needs to know what is going on in the drug industry.

They certainly do need to know, because doctors don't!!! I'll put it on my To Buy list.

I love natural news. I signed up for their newsletter a while a go. I have NEVER had a flu shot, and NEVER will. The GP practice has sent me a reminder, and has posters up in their surgery about it!

I know, they get incentives to push it! All this vaccine has been manufactured so they've got to get rid of it somehow! I get a letter every year saying time for your flu jab! And I don't go. So I get a letter saying : if you are worried about getting your flu shot, have a word with your doctor, he will be able to dispell your fears!!! Like hell he will! lol

Trust the doctors...no way! :-D

Certainly not! He will just Parrot what the sales rep told him. Hasn't got the wherewithall to think for himself.

I have been offered the flu jab, but I've never had it done. Whenever I take any medication, I ALWAYS seem to get unacceptable side effects. Whilst I know that flu is just awful, the thought of having something else swanning around in my body is not appealing and I just don't want to take the risk. I have enough stuff going wrong without adding something else into the mix!

Absolutely! Besides, everything I've read says they don't even work!

Indeed! So, knowing my luck, I would have all the side-effects of having the jab ... and then get flu. I expect my GP would say I was normal, so I needn't worry.

I was refused a flu jab, they said hypothyroidism doesn't warrant me one. Now I am not bothered but, would prefer not to catch it

Well, obviously. But getting a flu jab in no way guarantees you won't get it. Seems like a pointless risk to me, given that several people in Italy have died after having it this year.

I wasn't aware of that. It's shocking. Then maybe I am better off not getting it.
