Eptopic thyroid

Hi,

I was recently told that I had a suspected eptopic thyroid and I'm now awaiting further scans/tests. If you've had or have one, can you give me a little more information? There is not a lot on the internet and the consultant wasn't very good at communicating anything to me, he appeared to be good at talking about me to his student.
