Hi, just wondered if there is anyone on this site going to the Thyroid Uk conference?

Hi Shaws, thanks:-). That's good to know. I will be attending as well. Have never been to one before. I am looking forward to it too. There are a lot of good speakers I want to see. I am going up on the Friday straight from work as will be staying up there overnight, and drive back home after the conference on Sat eve as am hoping there will be less traffic. Be great to see some people from this site.
Hi. I am also going and it will be the first time at the conference for me too. Travelling up friday by train and staying until Sunday. Really looking forward to it and have like millions of questions. Ha!!
I too am going - flying in from Crete - and driving up the night before - leaving Sunday....looking forward to meeting people - will we have our forum names pinned on our jackets ?
Hi Pinkgirl where is the the thyroid uk conference being held at?
Hi, only just seen your reply as been out most of the day. Yoga this morning which took most of the day as the nearest class to me is 1hr 30 mins away lol. I live in a very rural area, and then reading a book for uni for the rest of the day as doing a part-time degree around work - hard going. Can see that Sandybeach has replied though:-). I think that there are still tickets for sale. I got mine in July time when the 'early bird' ones were out. I will be in work on Friday, so will drive up after work as there no point in me going home first as work is 1hr 30min from where I live and where I work is in the direction of the conference so easier to go straight to the hotel.
My husband and I are going.
It is in Birmingham at the Motorcycle Museum Greentherepy.
Many Thanks for all your replies:-). Hey Marz, I think forum names is a really good idea. If I wear my pink coat, I rekon I could be very easily identifiable as Pinkgirl lol. My car reg also represents my forum name lol. I have not got a personalised number plate but part of the reg applies, though, saying that, I bought the car a quite a few years before I came across this site. Its funny how things turn out.
I noticed that some of you are staying until Sunday. That was my original plan, though am only staying up til Sat as I figured that the traffic would probably be quieter on Sat eve to travel back for me. Once, I get passed the M6 and M5, am in ruralsville and that's the end of motorways for me. I don't think I even got a dual carridgeway to come back on. In the night, the roads will be empty.
Am looking forward to seeing everyone there:-)x
I'm going as well. I only live just down the road so will be making a day of it. Have a gig to go to in Coventry afterwards - it's going to be a very long day!
Forum name tags is a good idea. Louise, if you're reading this ...
I was wondering if there will be any reporting on what's going on at the conference, or if there will be any recordings as I'm already committed for that weekend, but would very much like to know what will be covered.
There are lots of guest speakers inc Dr Chris Steele from TV, an exhibition stall, Martin Hooper who is from the Pernicious anaemia society who will talk about the similarities between pernicious anaemia and the thyroid. There is also Dr Alyssa-Burns who specialises in hormones and holistic health. Dr Malcom Kendrick will talk about Cholestrol. There is also information on weigh loss and dieting downfalls in relation to hormones and a Dr Afshan Ahmed will give a talk on Dr Skinner - his life and work. It sounds really interesting
Grammigee, am not sure if there will be any recordings though
