What I find worrying is that folk think food is the same as 40/50 years ago - it isn't!

and it's not because there wasn't enough of it to feed the whole world either...

first they took out fat ("bad!") and added sugar for taste (worse!) - then they add chemicals such as aspartame (a chemical non-food so should not be consumed, to make drinks sweeter to make you thirstier! as well as artificial stuff like marg/nearly plastic or rapeseed oil/nearly diesel) not mentioning chemicals in fertilizer, weedkillers and pesticides.

GM wheat/flour is less prevalent in the UK/Europe than the USA - don't you think muffins, tortillas, doughnuts, waffles & burger buns 'feel' strange, well I do. If the ingredient list looks like that on a shampoo bottle, I avoid if I don't know what's in them... bread just isn't what it used to be...

I even question the '5 a day' mantra - there's 6 oranges in 2" of orange juice - enough sugar for the day!

cabbages without holes are not even fit for caterpillars!

Am I ranting? apologies. I have no idea if food is causing disease, but it doesn't contain as many nutrients which creates deficiencies. Hippocrates said "all disease begins in the gut" and I believe him, also there's no such thing as a drug deficiency.

As for vaccines, I think they've stopped using mercury or aluminium in them now, so should be better. (fingers crossed). J :D

Thank you.........interesting..........maybe grow your own is a good idea, but my husband has an allotment and the produce was awful this year even though we had excellent weather, my husband blames it on the jets showering the earth with chemicals from above, chemtrails? many many chemtrails in the sky, why?

Yesterday I made myself a cuppasoup, and as I always do, placed the little aluminium foil packet in a large polythene sack ready for recycling. As I was putting it in the sack, I realized just how much of my food comes in this type of packaging, and wondered how much of that aluminium gets into the food, and then into us.

I don't think that there is any doubt that as a species we are self-harming to quite a degree.

Avoid aluminium, if you must buy processed food then take it out of the packet and place it in a glass or enamel dish to heat, although buying fresh ingredients and cooking yourself is a much healthier way to go.

I usually make a soup once a week from all the veggies left in the bottom of my fridge, chop everything up and throw in a saucepan with a little organic salt and pepper and enough water to cover, simmer for 30 minutes, when slightly cooled pour into a smoothie type maker to puree if you prefer a smoother soup as I do, stir in a couple of spoons of crème freche. You will have enough soup for three days, lovely. It really doesn't take long to make and think of all the goodness you are giving yourself as opposed to poor quality ready made food.

Let's assume for the debate at least that our foods (and dont forget fluoridated water) may be causing us harm. ....

So what do we do? We go to the doctor and become part of the big pharma machine....

Now google 'drug muggers'. No wonder we have trouble functioning some days

Our Grandchild had a bad reaction on their 4 month baby injection, can't think of the name of the injection at the moment, child was inconsolable for way over an hour, arching their back and screaming and bright red and hot all over, there was a pointer to it being caused by the injection, only wish I taken a photo of it now looking back, our Grandchild was taken to Hospital by Ambulance.

All along we knew this child had unusual ways/traits, different to that of normal child, we are still waiting for the results from medics at the moment, they can't make up their minds, one expert told Mum to buy two books on Asperger's, another expert said they had never come across a child like this before, we have a 99.9% idea of what it is as child has 99.9% of the condition and it mentions that Parents and Family will know the Child has the condition before Medics will work it out, but in our County they do not diagnose this particular condition only Asperger's, the two Counties either side can diagnose for it, all a bit silly really as teaching methods for Asperger's apparently do not work for our child's condition. So while the Medics dither our Grandchild's education has suffered for far too many years.

in reply to Coastwalker

How old is your grandson now? What traits is he showing? i have a son with Asperger's, now 16. I don't know if there is a facility on this site for you to talk to me directly, rather than in public, but I am happy to do so if it is possible.

I say grandson because four boys have the condition for every girl. And there is a clear hint in the recent research why this might be.

OMG........I am so sorry..........it does make you think.... my child was perfect until injected, but you can not prove it..........as I say what a wicked world we live in.

So was a neighbors child Stray, perfect before injected, had a fit, then went backwards in their learning, yes so many out there affected and so much is covered up, we know.

What is needed is a safe vaccine for all babies, children and adults, if it is affecting some but not all babies, children and adults, maybe that is something that should be looked into, everybody is unique and reacts differently to chemicals going into their body, you can't put everyone in one category and hope that it will be ok

There are some that say the only truely healthy vaccine is is an optimised human immune system. Something thats increasingly difficult to achieve when our regular food stuffs are so adulterated.

There is quite a lot of info written about the healing aspects of bone broth and juicing. Both potentially allow access to vitamins and minerals that the body may routinely be deficient in

If you are intending to use the bone broth route it is worth ensuring you are using good quality meat ie grass fed or organic. Same is generally true for juicing fruit or veggies

Yes! Agree Stray, I remember several years back when Parents asked for the injections to be separated into single injections, but nothing was done, a cocktail of chemicals pumped into your body at the same time cannot be a good thing surely. ?

I remember when my son had the MMR injection and I really didn't want him to have it but was pushed into it mentally, I was made to feel like a bad mother if I didn't. My son had bowel problems after, which took quite a few years to put right, it was then that I decided not to have the booster done and when my other son was born I was offered the BCG vaccine for TB, he was only one day old and I said NO, it is not fair for a new born to have to fight that vaccine, and I said why has it always been done around 11 - 12 year old children? there was no explanation, then when my son's were due to have their BCG vaccine at the age of 11-12 yrs they were not allowed to have it, only the ethnic minority at school? I didn't understand this, although there is an increase in TB, its a crazy crazy world we live in which doesn't make any sense.

Daughter gets very concerned about injections for her kids, I had a flu injection several years ago because of media panic, but now I have my thyroid problems I will no longer have poisons injected into me, it's my body, so it will be my decision. :)

It's not just GM foods that are a danger. These days soy gets into everything - especially bread. And whether it's GM or organic, soy is just bad! Have a look at this :

And that's just the beginning!

I knew Soy was not good for you, but did not realize that it was in so much of our daily food products, that is so alarming. Thanks for your posting greygoose.

That is so scary.............thanks for the info

Okay so this article refers to conflicts of interest in the US, but be aware ....

articles.mercola.com/sites/...

The short answer to the question is No. Whoever told you that is, to put it bluntly, barking. No one knows at the moment what causes any of these conditions, and they all existed before GM foods.

Which is not to say that GM food might not have harmful effects on biodiversity.

And not to say that much in our processed foods might be doing us harm.

I completely forgot about my fillings.........omg.........my dentist said they were not good and removed one and it cost me a lot of money to have a white filling and the damn tooth gave me so much pain that I had to have it removed costing me even more money, so are you telling me these fillings could be the cause of my hypothyroidism?

I thought this might be a good place to ask. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy untoasted sesame oil?
