Tsh only
Kristyc, It's a little high for most people.
TSH of people on medication is usually comfortable just above or below 1.0. Scroll down to Guidelines and Treatment Options to read Dr. A. Toft's comments in Pulse Magazine thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...
If you want a copy of the article to show your GP email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.uk
Clutter could this cause me to feel extremely weak all over and so so exhausted? My endo says no but I feel if he bumped me to 88 and added some t3 it.could make a difference.
If you are not on optimum medication, everything in our body is affected. Endocrinologists appear to be the last people on earth to know how thyroid hormones affect our bodily functions.
Do as Clutter says and get a copy of Dr Toft's article and show to your GP you may be better off with him. For many a TSH of below 1 or suppressed is needed for us to feel well.
Kristyc, yes you can feel like that when under medicated. If you were on an optimal dose of Levothyroxine your symptoms would likely resolve. Try to persuade your GP or endo to test FT4 and FT3 in addition to TSH. TSH doesn't tell you what your T4 and T3 levels are or whether you are converting T4 to T3 well.
If they won't you can order private tests from Blue Horizon and Genova via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...
