I have burning on the palate under my top denture - presently on 100 thyroxine and told this condition would not be caused by thyroid problem - however I remember reading before about someone who had their dosage lessened due to burning mouth syndrome - I don't think my body could cope with any less thyroxine

Burning palate
Just thinking.... Do you take levothyroxine with your denture out and leave a little while before before inserting. Do you take levo with a full glass of water and wait for a while before eating?
It's not been reported when using levo:-

Can you pharmacist/dentist suggest something that will help reduce the sensation. This may be helpful.

Hi thanks for your message - I take my levothyroxine at night time before bed which means it is approx 4 hours since I have eaten - I do take it with a full glass of water but can you explain what difference it would make whether denture was in mouth or not. The only thing recommended to me has been difflam oral rinse which does help sometimes as it slightly numbs the mouth but sometimes its not effective at all. I am hyper about my denture being clean so I know its not a hygiene problem.
I've a burning palate over a week now, was prescribed difflam wash too, it helps at the time.
I'm convinced it's thyroid related as I've never felt worse.
My head feels like my scull is too small for it, headaches so bad.
And every other hypo symptom.
