This may or may not be of interest to some members ?

There is a posting on 'Pain Concern' (on HealthUnlocked) about a Chemistry Graduate's homemade pain relief remedy which apparently works on many different types of pain, the concoction was made up of Magnesium Chloride, 100% vodka and Glycerin. Described as a trans dermal application and claims to be good for swollen cysts, Trauma, Ms pain, Hashimoto swelling, accident injury, sleeplessness and more.

Could be worth checking out.

Named :- Mag-a-Hol.

This is the link given.

Ah, transdermal. I was thinking that just swigging the vodka might be the reason for success.

Green & Blacks dark chocolate contains magnesium, once you get the taste pleasant and only a little needed. Swigging the vodka also a good idea!

Yuk! not keen on dark chocolate foxglove, is magnesium in all dark chocolate or just the 'Green & Blacks' ? :) the magnesium in it might tempt me to try again. ;) :)

Do go careful on the vodka, remember it is meant to be 100% proof. :O

The taste comes with practice, I find it quite nice esp. if one doesn't eat any "normal" choc. Probably lots of dark choc. suitable Check the cocoa content the higher the better (and the more bitter the taste!)

Will be careful of the vodka, actually these days more of a wine drinker - in moderation of course

So it's the Cocoa that has the magnesium in it, never knew that, you learn something new every day. :)

They say the bitter the medicine the better the cure.

As children we were always told if medicine tasted horrible it was doing you good. Made one get better fast so not to have to take any more.!

Not really sure what has the magnesium in choc.. been taking the 70% cocoa but intending buying the 80% when supermarket shopping tomorrow. One "acclimatises" to the taste quite quickly

GO ON ,give it a try

I have tried many times to 'like' dark chocolate, but it is far too strong a taste for me, offer me white or milk chocolate and I can't get enough. ;)

As a child my Mother asked me to get some 'Cocoa' from the local corner shop, I came back saying they didn't sell 'Coco', but sold something similar spelt 'Cocoa.'

Mum still mocks me for it now.

O.K. think you've had a go with dark chocolate and I strongly believe that one's body knows what simply isn't right for it and shouldn't be forced. Anyway not really enough evidence that dark choc. works - at least not for all. Carry on enjoying milk or white. YUM- YUM

Thanks foxglove, I have read lots about dark chocolate being better/good for you, isn't it funny how we all have different food fads and tolerances, though I'm sure it would be boring and odd if we all liked the same, probably the reason why they make so many different colours/flavours of chocolate, so they can please us all.

Yum Yum ;) :)
