Hello folks, I now have the results of extra tests. The hashimtos one hasn't been returned yet. Still waiting.
Serum ferritin level. 88ug/L (13.0 - 150.0)
Vitamin b12 level. 451ng/L (191.0 - 663.0)
Folate level. 6.9 ug/L (4.6 - 18.7)
TSH level. 1.39mIU/ L (0.3 - 3.94). This one is a bit odd as only 2 weeks ago I was 4.10- outside range. can you drop so quickly?
I told the doc that I was worried about the strange tongue prickles and bitter taste and the constant indigestion, previously never had pre Levo days. She said she didn't know what that was but is arranging for a throat scan. She said I should take the indigestion tablets. I said I didn't want to take an indigestion tablet every day for the rest of my life. This is unresolved.
Waiting for hashi tests to come back. Another blood test booked for 5 weeks time. Now on 75 Levo.
Thank you for any advice.

Northie, Hashimoto's would explain the TSH swing. Ferritin is in the optimal 70-90 range. B12 is probably fine but as neuropathy can be experienced when B12 is <500 you might want to supplement to boost it up the range. Folate looks a little low. A B complex might address that or supplement folic acid or methylfolate for 3/4 months.
Indigestion can be caused by low stomach acid which is common in hypothyroid patients. Betaine Pepsin before meals increases stomach acid and improves digestion. Raw apple cider vinegar (ACV) in fruit juice or honey sweetened water before meals also raises stomach acid. ACV in water with 1/4 to 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda can help relieve indigestion.
Bitter taste is a pain and may resolve on your increased dose. I experience a sour tomatoey taste when I eat some foods and it can last for weeks and then stop for months.
Thank you Very much Clutter. I have some good health shops near to where I live, so will go and look up a B complex and B12. I really appreciate the tip on indigestion and throat thing. I've never experienced it ever before and it's hideous. I have apple cider vinegar in my cupboard strangely enough. Thank you. Will report in when the hashi thing comes through. I appreciate you taking the time to post.
