I went on to read all 15 studies done on combination therapy and concluded they never experimented with higher doses of t3, most of them had just 12.5 mcg of t3 with 100 or more t4, what may be too little, even with such low doses the most recent study said that half of patients preferd the combination therapy to monotherapy BUT they still dont recommend it and must be researched further???!!, and i ask myself how the heck this was not researched by now, why it takes them so long? How can you know whats best for me when they can not even explain why t4 is not converting to t3...etc......but i dont get it levythiroxin can still find its use, why they dont just add t3 drug to it? Its not that patients will just use t3, and cost of levythiroxin is so small its like 5 eur here, its so pathetic.......another thing is they can not answer to 100 questions you ask but you have to believe them for recommendations?? When you are actually testing pig for them still, they dont know themselves but preventing you from trying new therapies, and ignoring how you feel, treating all patients the same way, then if it doesnt work they say, everone is different, then i asked why if i am different i dont deserve different eatment from the rest?? They just have no logic...in the end they make you believe you are black sheep, and only you dont respond good to therapy, so i said to my doc, i am sure your other patients dont even know how they are supposed to feel:-) , he addmited it may be true! And he collects money for such simple solutions!! Running tsh down is his goal and thats all it matters to them

It's the same in the UK, USA and Spain from what I've read, Ivy and I'm sorry to hear it's like that in Croatia too.

Have you seen this very recently published study saying TSH is individual to patients and the range is inappropriate for basing treatment on. The abstract and full article links are halfway down the thread healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Yes have read it many times that tsh is not so relevant at all, and i noticed this on my own skin:-) i have perfect tsh, and symptoms just the same as before, this metabolism rate doesnt want to move up......it improves from time to time, i notice it while doing sports, people are amazed how good i can run on a days and on some days i can hardly inhale!! Those sorts of fluctuations, i think the thyroid lvl in cells is crucial, someone posted one so good link that i sent it to my doc!!!he should be the one who spends his weekends reading stuff and not me! So i included him now in it..i dont care.i just can not come to peace thinking he takes so much money for so little thinking

is this near you? is this near you? Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine uclh.nhs.uk/ourservices/our... - for a more holistic approach?????? They should be more open minded. In USA holistic doctors test more thoroughly. Hope it is the same in the UK. Seriously upset to hear that you are in a bind.

Do you have any information that they are any more able to help thyroid patients than, say, any other endocrinologist in the country? They don't appear to specialise in thyroid issues so far as I can see.

They treat the whole system. That is what integrated medicine is about. They don't specialize in any specific venue. Others onboard have written they need direction where to get NDT's. These people can advise. Some people are Private Messaging their internet connections. I hope these licensed practitioners will provide useful info to you in the U.K. of pros and cons of all the meds for thyroid- synthetic or natural. The endocronologists in your country have to follow some narrower guidelines that now forbid NDT's. Supplies seem scarce abroad for armour. Perhaps under these doctors they get their supply from Europe? I am guessing. Do know this is the type of doctor in the USA that studies endocronology and prefers mixing holistic with western medicine. Leo Galland - NY Integrated Medicine and reknown doctor says "integrated doctors" in UK can allow patients to try both options if needed. He won't name nnames" but this link is one he suggests to pursue.

Very interesting document, well written and clarifies the problems around guidelines. Good find - thanks for posting. :)
