Is this an adrenaline issue and how do I control it.

Hi,You kind people have told me I may have an adrenaline issues, may I share an incident with you for your opinions.

This happened this morning,I was doing the usual run of jobs when hubby returned from the shops,So I suggested coffee and he puts the kettle on. While waiting for the coffee I decided to add some water to the pond. Out I went and filled the watering can but he comes out too. He wants to fill the butt we use for the back garden from the larger one at the side of the house. This stops me doing what I wanted to do. I know he thinks he is helping but I fly into a rage,I think he has spoiled the whole day. I feel like he's taken all my toys away when all he wanted to do was help.

How can I control this sudden anger???

Hi beaton

The fact that you have posted on here means, I think, that you didn't like your loss of self-control and rage at your husband. When our hormones are out of balance, we don't behave normally and as your husband was being helpful he sounds quite caring and will be as puzzled as you are at why you went 'off'.

We have, in the past, read about women completely out of control with PMT's and it must be hell for their families.

It must be due to an imbalance in our hormones over which we are not in control. Have you had recent blood tests result for your thyroid gland to see if they are harmony? Maybe you need a slight adjustment. (does your GP prescribe a little T3).

I hope you feel a bit better now.

Best wishes

Thanks Shaws,Yes I'm out of control. At my age (61) I don't think it's the "usual" hormonal imbalance. I am definitely al tears and tantrums. I haven't had full thyroid bloods since January and I see the endo. in a months time. I went against advice of my last endo. and went T3 only, with support from my GP. I am currently taking 40 mcg. T3 but sometimes add another 5.

With the exception of the 'tantrum' do you feel normal health or are you usually in a turmoil? Do you have other clinical symptoms on T3? Not that I am medically qualified.

Hi Shaws, I must admit over the years I have become less calm. If you had asked me a few months ago how I felt changing to T3 only, I would have said much better, even singing doing the house work. These days although I feel well in myself I am not sleeping well, can't relax and I'm less tolerant of the world in general. I think I am turning into Victoria Meldrew. Tinnitus is bad at the minute body hair hasn't grown back and I still can't lose weight.

I do suffer from Psoriasis and Ps. Arthritis as well as Hashis.

I think I am under medicated but as I went against medical advice to reduce T3 and increase T4, I daren't go too far until I see my new endo.,heaven knows what he will say.

Beaton, it is very difficult trying to recover your health and when it's not working as you hoped it is really deflating. I am well on T3 alone thankfully. I have also been well on Naturethroid and I had to try a few NDTs first.

I think it's frustration when you lose your cool as illhealth is at the back of your mind all the time.

Regards.

Hi Beaton,

I too am 61. All this hit me like a ton of bricks last Christmas, although I think it has been creeping up on me for many years. But for this website I would be stuffed and alone in the dark - I have learnt everything here, and very quickly learned that I would get little help from GPs simply because they do not know enough about it. So I went to a private Doc who is an integrated practitioner - basically that means he will use all methods and knowledge available to get you well - even though he is not a thyriod expert and treats everything known to man (and woman) He is very keen on adrenal matters and put me on Nutri Adrenal and Nutri Adrenomax which I have to say has made a big difference - 1 Nutri Adrenal in the morning and 1 Adrenomax with the evening meal - my shingles have now gone after 2 years of hanging around. I am now on Nature-throid - prescribed by him and doing well - he is in Winchester. You can get these things easily on line. Might be worth giving it a go!!XX

Hi Beaton :-) Could you be menopausal? I've recently been tested which came back at a high level. I'm 55 but had a hysterectomy at 40 but kept ovaries. No bleeding for 15 years so no visible indicator to being in the menopause or not. Recently I've been a nightmare -flying into a rang for no reason. Could this be your problem too? Are you on HRT?

I can sympathise with you as I hate these mood swings and feel terrible for poor hubby or anyone else in the firing line.

Hope you get sorted soon x

Thanks W3ndy,I don't think it's menopausal but I must admit the symptoms seem similar. I sailed through the menopause some years ago, infact I didn't know I'd reached the end because I was lacking in symptoms. Perhaps they have come back to bite me. :)

You could ask for a menopause/hormone test when you next have blood tests. This will either rule out or confirm whether you are menopausal or not. X

Hope you find the answer and start to feel better again xx
