I've Hashis and the doc has found out that my liver serum gamma level is far too high and that I've too much iron in my blood. She thought it was Hemochromatosis but the genetic test has come back negative. Any ideas please?

Do you know how high it was? If it was moderately high, rather than astonishingly high, it might just be due to inflammation somewhere in your body.

According to one source, only 90% of those with haemochromatosis get a positive result to the standard gene test. Clearly that is "most" but definitely short of "all". It does not appear to rule it out.

I agree with LilyMay that the numbers are important and you need to post them - even if you have to get in touch with your GP surgery to get them.

I will check and post back. My doctors used to print out my results but when I asked last week they said they no longer did this! Thanks for replying:)
