Ask for a copy of your recent thyroid blood test results and post them here with reference ranges. It may be that they are keeping you slightly hypo and a decrease in Carb might help. I found it very difficult to get the right balance and was asking for regular blood tests, almost every few weeks. I probably drove my GP crazy! You may be much steadier and a little tweak will make all the difference. You should take control yourself and not believe "normal" unless you have seen the test results yourself. Keep all copies safely as a record.

I found that as soon as my thyroid stopped being wildly overactive I gained some of the weight I had lost.

The muscles in my thighs have strengthened up for starters so that must account for some of the weight. I'm no heavier than I was before I got ill but I've lost all the 'skinniness' that I loved which is a bit if a shame but then I am also eating a lot more too so weight gain isn't surprising in my case.

this is a known side effect of Carbimazole for some people (I only found this out when my second specialist 'fessed up). When I was on Carbi. I shot past the weight I had been before I went hyper and put on 2 stone more. It's scary. There is a different medication called propyl thiouracil (commonly called PTU) which may not pile on the pounds so badly. Certainly it didn't for me.

Hennerton speaks good sense (as usual!): a little less Carbi. may do the trick. Take responsibility for your own well-being with this disease. Learn all you can. The 'specialists' often aren't :O(
