Been told I am borderline hypo by GP and Endo and wont give me more levo. im hrt patch was increased and this did seem to help my hot flushes but now they are all back.. and coincides with me stopping my levo (25mcg) I know this is usually a hyper symptom though...

My phrase must be "is it me, or is it hot?" To which the answer is always "it's you, I'm perfectly cool" ............... I seem to have no internal thermostat so can have very cold periods and very hot ones, not necessarily linked to the ambient temperature!
I've been hypo for 33 yrs. I'm on 125 T4 & 20 T3. And similar to what Gentle Orange says, I can want/need to throw my clothes off anywhere, and if we have gone out for a drink it's not unusual for me to go to the ladies, strip off, and wipe myself down ....... There is just no thermostat control, or it's as if the control has got stuck .....
When I had my dose reduced, I had the most dreadful night sweats. I was scared to say anything as I assumed that was a hyper symptom and didn't want my dose reduced any further. As soon as my dose was increased again, the sweats went away.
thanks, so that indicates it was def your thyroid then. I am pretty sure it is mine. I get cold hands sometimes and my energy levels, although not as bad as when I first went to my GP about them, 6 months ago, are still pretty awful! I do not want to increase my HRT anymore. I had a blood test to check my Estrogen levels and they are now perfect... its just the bloomin ranges for Thyroid that are the problem as usual! Groan
i am on 150 levo and have been for years but for the last year my temperature control has gone bezerk....my doc recons its my thyroid and have tried a t4/t3 combo but it has just got worse...cant go anywhere because i feel i will pass out with the heat..feels like i am boiling from the inside
This morning I felt like The Human Radiator. That's why I came to this site today. I wanted to throw my clothes off in the middle of the supermarket! I'm 37, so I hope I'm not menopausal. It's something that has happened since I've been on NDT & T3. I think I have to phase out the T3 and see if that helps. I don't know if it's an under medicated or over medicated issue. And I can't discuss it with my doctor because he's a stickler for the NHS guidelines which kept me ill for a decade.
sorry to hear that, I hope you get it sorted. My Gp is convinced its my hormones and not hypo!! I say otherwise as when I took small amount of levo to try they went!! ho hum...
