Well I have Hashi's not Graves' but I can tell you that if my results were like that on meds my doc would go mad. I'm sure someone who is more familiar with Graves' will be along with more info.

All your results are out of range. What is your doc waiting for?

Could you see a different doc in the surgery?

You poor thing, how horrible. Hang in there and someone else will be along to help. I wish I knew more but I don't want to steer you wrong.

The only thing I can think of is that you ask for a referral to an endo and write a strongly worded letter to say that you'd like the doctors you've seen to confirm that you're being refused treatment even though your levels are out of range and you are suffering all the attendant health problems of Graves', and if you remain untreated you'll be vulnerable to future health issues such as heart problems and osteoporosis. Ask them to confirm this in writing, sign and date it and file it in your records.

No probs at all. :-) There are times when I'm ill and this site is the only thing keeping me going and I can be here asking questions and getting info whenever I need it. If I had a penny for every time someone was kind and helpful to me here... :-) xx

Have they tested for Graves antibodies? That will prove something at least. My T4 was 69.77 when I was diagnosed so you can imagine how I was shaking. Took them 6 months to think it might be thyroid, however. I think you should go back and ask again. What is your heart rate? That was how I was eventually diagnosed. Sometimes people are given Beta Blockers to help the shaking and heart symptoms. Hope you get help soon.

I don't mean this to sound flippant but does alcohol help at all - I am hypo, but if I take too much replacement, I find that a glass of wine feels like it brings levels down.

Hi wendy yes I would say it looks like you are hyperactive. My results were very similar to yours and I was started immediately on treatment and referred to an endo, This is disgraceful! GPs( are you in UK.?) Arnt supposed to treat hyper without endo referral. You are out of range in every test.If you absolutely cant get anywhere with your doctors take yourself off to casualty and tell them you think you are going into thyroid storm(a real and very dangerous condition) causef by untreated hyperthyroidism. Good luck and let us know how you gk on, sending hugs...kim x

There may be very good reasons for your gp wanting to leave it a little while to see what happens (after all I'm not a doctor) but it would be helpful if there was a plan, like maybe you could have a script for beta blockers to treat the symptoms and in x weeks if your tests are still hyper then the treatment plan is xyz - or whatever. But too often people just get sent off to go home and be ill and miserable and every subsequent visit to the gp means you're starting from scratch fighting the same battle over and over again.

Be clear with the gp. Ask for a plan and an explanation of the current thinking that you should wait for another test. Ask if there's anything that you can take for relief of symptoms. Make notes and if you're not happy that there's 1) concern for your well-being and 2) a care plan, go home and write a letter.

If you're symptomatic and feeling awful, everything isn't fine, no matter what they say. :-) xx

I am hypo , not hyper, and my blood test results are more impressive if i get the test done first thing in the morning because Thyroid hormone levels change during the day. This might mean that you should have your blood taken in the late afternoon. Does anyone else agree?

I do hope you get some help soon. You are definitely hyper and should be treated. Being hyper is bad for the heart.
