Patrick Holford, in his book, The Homocysteine Solution, says that you should have plenty of folate along with other B vitamins and zinc in order that your body methylates properly. The topic is a bit big to go into here but, if it were me, I would increase my folate levels!

Thank you, I've just had a lot of bloods taken & feel I've learned more on here about my thyroid blood results. Doctors would rather make you feel it's all in my head x

I agree with lynmynott. Try to get those levels higher before they go under range. Mine were similar to that in respect of placement in the range and within 3 months they went below range. Perhaps start with 400 mcg or 800 per day which you can buy over the counter and then repeat bloods in 3 months time to see if it's improved. If it goes below range then gp should prescribe 5mg x day for 4 months.

Its folic acid that you should be supplementing which will increase your folate levels.
