Why does my under active thyroid go over active... - Thyroid UK
Why does my under active thyroid go over active Now reduced to 75mg I also have Addison's disease
Always get a copy of your blood tests with the ranges for your own records and so you can post if you have a query.
Your underacticre thyroid does not go 'overactive' as the GP's say when they believe it is right to keep you 'within the range'. I don't know much about Addison's disease.
This is what happens when your dose is adjusted according to the TSH alone. Read last question/answer on page

Ok thanks for your reply Addison is another autoimmune disorder, but of late I have felt rubbish constantly tired, menopausal, and not sleeping, I seen my endo consultant who took all my routine bloods, which states my thyroid is now "over active" they don't do free t4/3 but say reduced mess down to 75mcg from 100mcg, I am not sure why this happens and will the lesser dose make me even more tired thanks again
I don't suppose you have been taking your meds before the bloods were taken, this will show a high reading! Maybe take the thyroid meds after your next blood test. I also have Addison's and I know it's always an up hill battle trying to make sure your body feels normal.
