My thyroxine or any medication, but kept getting thyroid checked, was always fine. So since I had my son 2.5 years ago I've not taken thyroxine but started getting symptoms again. I have been constantly ill will chest infections, tired, depressed etc but doc says thyroid is fine. I really dunno what to do as I am sure it's my thyroid! I am so sick and depressed all the time and worried about my job as I have been off so much with viruses, ibs flaring up, depression etc

If it is possible, please get a copy of your latest thyroid gland blood tests from the surgery. You are entitled and make sure they have the ranges. Some doctors believe if we are 'in range' that's o.k. but if you have had a thyroid problem before, it could have reactivated, especially after your baby's birth.

If you have to have an up-to-date test, please ask for Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, iron, ferritin and folate to be tested too, as they can cause problems if deficient.

Hi Sarah, do you have any idea what your vitamin D level might be. That has a lot to do with infections and there is a belief that almost everyone in the northern hemisphere is deficient.

Something may be interfering with your thyroid output.
