Anyone started taking nutri-adrenal support without coming off thyroid meds. I was advised to stop taking meds for a week before i started to take nutri-adrenal.

Yes you do take them along side thyroid meds...but need a break form thyroid meds prior to starting nutri-adrenal this is according to Dr.P.

I will need to dig out my complete panel of results but my tsh was ).0.16 and i had a raised t3. Due to pallpitations i am reducing Levo from 100mg to alternate 100mg and 75.Mg

I went to see Dr Peatfield & this was his instruction after reading my test results from the lab for adrenal fatigue.I am on 114 mcg daily(100 alternating with 125)I followed his advice, including stopping thyroxine for a week.I used the adrenal support supplements for 6 months then researched my own supplementation to cut costs & at the same time take higher doses of the supplements I found helpful.I have made a good recovery from 2 years of depression with panic & anxiety states.I have had to change my lifestyle to reduce stress & fatigue.I still have problems with chronic fatigue & anxiety, but this is maneagable .Depression with acute anxiety was hell.

It was Dr.P who advised me about taking the nutri-adrenal. I was to start on one tablet aday increasing upto 8 which i thought was a heck of alot.

Do you think the adrenal support really helped or do you beleive it was the lifestyle changes that brought some improvement even though you still have some of your symtoms.

sorry for delay-been distracted by crisis caused by flood(not my home TTL)This is almost impossible to give an answer to.My adrenal results from the lab indicated I had adrenal fatigue & I do believe that as a chronic sufferer of anxiety,I crashed into depression(with anxiety the worst symptom)after prolonged stress. The Dr Peatfield route was my first attempt at healing after trying SSRIs,which I believe I am hypersensitive to.I felt much worse for 3 weeks & stopped antidepressants.

After much research on the net,I started taking 200mg of SAMe.last March, after trying St John's Wort & 5HTP for trial periods. St John's wort did nothing.5HTP made me worse.

Felt better after 2 weeks.Still taking 200mgs,though most people use 400mgs upwards.

I believe my adrenal glands were affected, but do not know if Dr Peatfields approach helped.I didn't feel any better.

I now meditate twice a day for 20 mins & do yoga twice a week.I go to a self-help group(don't get on with counselling/therapy)

Most importantly,I believe,I have to stay within my capabilities of coping with stress, which have been very low, since a child. This means setting boundaries which other people don't accept without much persistance from me(I cannot be a people pleaser)If I ignore this for a prolonged period,I believe I will go back to what I now refer to as "the dark place"or "Zombie-land"

Did I become hypothyroid in 1997 as a result of my anxiety issues.Did adrenal fatigue cause my depression or was it just one factor.I don't know!

Please reply if I can help more. Are you suffering from depression?Acute anxiety?

When I saw Dr P last April I was taking 100mcg thyroxine. He told me to stop for 2 weeks and introduce Nutri Adrenal Extra. Starting with 2 tablets and raising to 4 (they are twice as strong as the regular nutri adrenal). He told me to go on nutri thyroid after 2 weeks and raise "according to temperature and how you feel".

I managed 4 days without thyroxine and started going downhill rapidly. As I'd only, quite literally, managed to be even out of bed for a few weeks I wasn't willing to lose the small amount of ground I'd gained, so started taking a couple of nutri thyroid tablets. That halted the slide.

I am significantly better now than I was a year ago, although I still have a long way to go. I am on a range of adrenal and thyroid support, including Hydrocortisone cream, Vit C, Vit D, Vit B12, and some thyroxine (to keep my doctor on side).

I have just raised the thyroxine from 25mcg to 50mcg (along with 2 nutri thyroid) as a blood test last week showed my TSH had raised from 0.2 to 2.5. I thought it had, as I was getting itchy elbows and ears again, but wanted to have the test before adjusting any meds.

I'm also starting to take some adaptogens (cordyceps and ashwagandha with the aim of reducing the glandulars).

Don't know if any of that helps.

Interesting because when I went to see Dr. Chapman who also prescribed Nutri Adrenal and Nutri Adrenal Max I was told to stay ON my levothyroxine (150mg daily) but to also increase the Nutri weekly. I have to say I was so sure this would work for me, but honestly,I felt it was so slight, it was an expensive lesson. I am currently seeing online Dr. Cammi Balleck who uses Nutri WEST products, and am taking their Adrenal-Lymph-plus as well as Multimune and Fem 10 as well as DHEA , Gaba, the usual array of vits and supplements (D3,B complex, Omega, Co-Q 10, Magnesium, Multivit with Probiotics, using Chorella/Spiralina too daily.) I am not only beginning to feel better but I am also finally (unbelievably after 10 long years of not losing a pound!) finally losing weight too! Yippee! My energy is better, my sleep issues are better and so far, I am feeling hopeful, happier! I have also cut out all wheat, gluten, sugar and eating as much organic food as possible, honed down on using the microwave too. Slowly feeling better day by day. Thank Heavens there are Naturopaths who actually know what they are doing as far as thyroid, hormones and give lots of support too. If you have not found the right Dr. I highly recommend Dr. Cammi Balleck. She can consult you on Skype (she is in Colorado, USA) but consults world wide and because the dollar is cheaper then the pound, not expensive. Her website is here: makinghappyhappen.com/ She is caring, knowledgable and what she does works! :-)

Thats very interesting and you have worked so hard yourself to get results.

Did you have any tests to say that your adrenals were failinh.

Yes, I had an adrenal spit test which you can order yourself from many independent labs.
