I am on liothyronine 20mg, levothyroxine 125mg medication and been told that levels are ok. Unf. I don't have list of results but will ask for this. I am also anaemic and on iron tablets. What is the private test people are talking about to check your

andrenal function.

If you can get a copy of your latest thyroid gland blood tests and post them, with the ranges, members will comment. This is a link re fibromyalgia by the Dr who ran the Fibromyalgia Research Foundation in the USA.

Do you have Hashimotos ? - auto-immune thyroiditis. I too was once diagnosed with Fibromyalgia ?? - some 14 years ago. The Hashimotos in 2005. My treatment has been tweaked over the years. I was quickly free of the worst of the pain once my treatment was right for me....

Have you had all the usual ones tested - B12 - Ferritin - Folate - Iron - VitD ? If so were they all HIGH in their ranges - oh dear sorry have just read that you are anaemic....how is that being treated ? VitD certainly needs testing and treating ....

The private Adrenal test is the Saliva Test - which you can read about on the main Thyroid UK website - address at the top of this page. When do you take your T4 and T3 ? - hopefully 4 hours away from the Iron....are you taking the Iron with good levels of VitC to aid absorption....

Do you have gut issues ? - low Iron and gut issues often go together .....sorry about all the questions but with more information more people will be able to help. Were you diagnosed with Fibro by a Rheumatologist ?

I think many of us shy away from a Fibromyalgia diagnosis on this forum - hence I have asked lots of other questions - in an effort to throw more light on the bigger picture of your health. Hopefully we can help. There are some home tests you can do for the Adrenals - go to - stopthethyroidmadness.com and click onto Adrenals at the top of the page....hopefully it will help you or at least give you an idea if you have a problem......

Thank you for your response . I just thought i had an under active thyroid and never been told any different , its not until i started to read more that i have found out about all the other diagnoses . I am not due to see endo until april, when i will have all the right questions to ask. Did you do the cortisol test ? To check your adrenal function , i feel thats all i have left . It was rheumatologist that diagnosed my fibro. But to be honest very little consulation time so im not 100% convinced.

Apparently I don't have an Adrenal problem according to the Private Doc I saw in the UK so have not done the test. Have you looked at Paul Robinson's website rwt3.com He is a member of this forum so type his name into Members on the prurple bar at the top - and you will find him and all his posts. His book is about recovering his health with T3. You will also read helpful stuff about the Adrenals and when to dose etc. Am afraid we have to take control of our own health - learn as much as possible so that you can ask the RIGHt questions. Don't hold out too much hope that the Endo will solve any problems - unless you have a good one that knows/understands thyroid....

I would have the anti-bodies tested asap so you are prepared and save time before seeing the Endo. Hashimotos is the most common thyroid condition. Have you had all the vits/minerals tested ? See above... In my non-medical opinion Fibromyalgia type issues seems more common in people with auto-immune issues.

You are so right. It's even more complicated when it is more of an autoimmune condition than just a thyroid condition. This short video explains the complications of diagnosing.
