I would be grateful if anyone can give me any information with regard to b.12 and if or how it can effect thyroidism AND

thyroid eye disease and possibly the adrenal system ........after having seen -- in my opinion -- a super consultant at moorefields hospital he actually asked if I had any info that he hadn't he would be extremely open to learn from any and all and I feel that if I can at least point him in a direction it could help the cause ........alan

It's good the the consultant at Moorfields was interested in learning more. It does make a change.

For all information on B12, the Pernicious Anaemia Society would answer your questions.

WOW! - where is moorfields? ( I think I m ight move there soon...;-) - I would really really love to have a consultant like that - you are sooo lucky - make sure you hold onto that one, and best of luck with your treatment.

moorefields is the main eye treatment hospital in old street London --- anyone can be reffered there from anywhere within the nhs ...... the department is called ' ADNEXAL' .....if you want any further info please pm me .....yes I do covert the consultant , in my opinion he is absolutely brilliant ......alan

You could also point him towards the books - Could It Be B12? An Epidemic of Misdiagnosis (Pacholok & Stuart), and Martyn Hooper's 2 books "Pernicious Anaemia: The Forgotton Disease" and "Living With Pernicious Anaemia and Vitamin B12 Deficiency".

And get him to watch all the documentaries as well found here:

There are lots of articles on Pubmed linking autoimmune thyroid disease, PA and addisons/adrenals. He should research Polyglandular Autoimmune Syndrome (particularly type 2). If you look at this Addison's Disease article and scroll down to "Associated Diseases":
