Please use my protocol Beaton and get the right lab tests done so that the T3 is not starved of nutrients and cortisol. You can find my on my FB group also if you need any specific help.

If you found any tricks to get your GP to prescribe T3 then please share them - this is still a huge problem for most thyroid patients. Are you going to do T3 only or the tiny bit of T3 with T4 model (which often doesn't work - see my block for the reasons this often fails - TSH and conversion relationship).

Great news!

Hi Paul, I had another endo appointment that was total unsatisfactory. (as usual.) I told my GP "I have want to see that man again." showed him your book and said I wanted to try T3 only. How could he refuse.

Good. Still, many do refuse!

Make sure it is a success - the right lab tests and get support when you need it!

Good luck!

Thyroid hormone resistance is very hard to diagnose and can often only be done through treatment with T3 and then watching the results.

Most people don't need high single doses. However, my protocol can be migrated from 3-4 doses down to 2 and then 1 based on symptoms and signs. I don't preclude a high single dose at all. John knew very well that my protocol and his overlapped and were complimentary. I say explicitly in the book that some people do need 1 or 2 doses of T3 per day and that some need very high doses and I mention doses of 200 and 300 mcg.

So the book is aimed at the majority who really do well on multi-doses that are more moderate but doesn't preclude high dosing with one or two doses of T3 per day.

I obviously know Lowe's work very well and I've read his big book about six times. I think the two approaches are complimentary. I have also worked with people that have started on 3 doses then migrated to 2 and then one high dose. I believe this is a safer way of using T3 as it avoids using a high single dose until is it obvious that it is required.

It is a useful comment Sandy.

Thank you!

I think T3 in general is needed way more often than most people people and far more often than doctors acknowledge. So, yes, I am sure you are right.

Thank you Sandy!
