I think almost every hypothyroid loses that outer third. Mine are very thin, I can feel them but hardly see them. I was taking one grain of Armour which is equivalent to 25 mcg. of T3 which is contained in it. I've been taking slightly over 25 mcg. T3 (only) during the last six months hoping to get rid of reverse T3 and help my adrenals. I also take some adrenal support.

Do you think you are T4 resistant? stopthethyroidmadness.com/t...

Thanks for replying. Well the thing is that my eyebrows are fine and I've never had problems with sex hormones or fertility but I have all the other hypo symptoms. I was thinking that people with thyroid resistance might not get the eyebrow thing? I've taken NDT and it worked well but I felt that I needed a much higher dose than that I was on (3,5 grains) and I kept putting weight on so I'm now taking T3. I don't know if I am T4 resistant. I can take quite a hight dose T3 without any adverse effect, 150mcg. My tsh has always been low 0.93

kiltis, There are a few people who are taking those high amounts of hormone and even higher, perhaps they will respond. I'll try to find my reference on that.

One of our admins has thyroid hormone resistance and takes 180mcg t3. Hopefully she will be able to give you more info.

I think I may have it too to some degree. I am currently on 100mcg and I need to increase again.

I lose my eyebrows, the outer third anyway. I recently reduced my dose because of palpitations (turned out to be low iron - again!) and I actually had a hole in my eyebrow - a completely bald patch!

Oh my, I hope the hair grows back for you. I asked for my iron last time I went to the doctor's and was met with 'I can't see why that is relevant'. What!! He didn't want to give me the range either. Of course I insisted but seriously, what an attitude. Grrr.

I suppose my thyroid med doses could be seen as high. I had hypothyroidism for well over 20 years before I got diagnosed, and I wonder if my receptors actually work at all. Also I have very low stomach acid and one of the drugs I take affects absorption of thyroid meds and changes liver enzymes. I never really know where i'm at. Currently taking 3 grains of Armour and 75mcg of T3, i'm less swollen but still have all the body pain fatigue, cold etc.

Something i've learnt recently is that I have Pernicious Anaemia and my iron and folate are too low. I've read iron is needed to carry T3 to the cells. Working on all this and hoping to see better results. So don't automatically think you're resistant, it could be minerals and Vitamins

I wish there was a way to know exactly what the problem is. I am just guessing because what else can I do. I've had hypo symptoms for 19 years. Never diagnosed, never treated until last year.

My iron levels have always been good, I've taken Vit B and D for years and had them tested privately.

I know I have adrenal problems, I had an adrenal crash about two years ago. But I've done all to heal them and the last test I had in October showed cortisol was fine but DHEA still low.

I don't have outer third of my eyebrows missing - this is about the only hypo symptom I've never had. I take 50mcg T3 and 75mcg T4

Do you feel good on this dose? Did you have a high TSH?

I have absolutely NO eyebrows whatsoever and if I could have an eyebrow transplant I would. Not many eyelashes either.

Taking T3 150 mcg and this is the best I've felt although there's definitely room for improvement.

Looking at everyone's T3 amounts I am really worried mine is way to low! I had a TT and my Endo put me on 125 mg levothyroxine and only 5 Mcg T3 liothyronine. After 4 weeks she changed it to 112 mg levothyroxine and 10 Mcg T3.

Look at everyone's high doses of 75 and 150 I am concerned.

I to am gaining weight and tired all the time.

Do you feel better on the higher dose of T3?

Sorry, I missed your answer. Thanks for replying. I don't actually know what I have, thyroid resistance or Hypothyroidism type 2, or are they the same? I feel that my thyroid is fine but the thyroid hormones in my blood don't get into the cell. My hair tissue mineral test identified a thyroid and adrenal problem. I have all symptoms bar the missing eye brows. NDT and T3 (T3CM) has improved my adrenal status significantly.

Hi! I think I'm thyroid resistant and I am having a hard time understanding the info I find. I did the wilsons protocol and my temp would hit 98.4 on 75 twice a day then plummet even if I went up. Then my doc put me on 50mcg compounded instant t3 and that did nothing so I added some sustained release T3 with it until I took a total of 165mcg a day and still nothing!! Can u please help me?
