Can your t4 fluctuate between being high and being normal with Graves' disease? X
Not sure it's the answer you are looking for, I've got Graves and was on block and replace until the start of November last year ( have stopped now) I found that as my levo was increased from 50mcg in February to 75/100 mcg in November my T4 increased but it was a fairly steady increase so I suppose it didn't really fluctuate. Hope that is some help for you.
Thank you. The reason I asked was my t4 was 26 in February last year then came back down to 14 in May when I was on beater blockers, had it tested agin in nove and it had gone back up. The doctor is testing again in February to see what it is doing. I think my nan had the same problem about 40yrs ago and we think she had graves, my antibodies was 0.5 so was thinking this could be what I've got x
I was diagnosed in Feb, gp and endo wanted block and replace. I went for up and down titration of carbrimazole according to monthly blood tests, T4 went from nearly 70 down to 15 now (range 12 to 22)....I had a radical change of diet - zero gluten, minimal caffeine, cut back of beloved wine, now only on 2.5mg of drug, tackling weight with exercise again and get lots of valuable support and advice from this website. I follow (not too strictly) Fodmap and Paleo diet. x4
