Can.t believe it am so happy i recently saw a locum at my surgery who listened to me where my own doctors wouldn.t she said your thyroid level is ok but on the low end but your antibodies in 2010 was pretty high and not been tested since so sent me for bloods and if still high will give me low dose . Today they where back and a lot higher than last time and said i.ve defently have underactive thyroid and staring me on 50 mg of thyroxine what ever she called it got to go and get them later. I couldn.t thank her enough as its taken 3 years to get treatment all this from seeing a new doctor after seeing 5 others in my surgery. Hope it don't take long not to feel tired and cold all the time and the bad memory getting better best christmas ever. Thanks everyone for telling me what to ask for down there and to keep on.

Best christmas ever just been diagnoised with hyporthyroid after 3 years .
It is such a relief when you have a diagnosis. I assume she has asked you to have another thyroid gland blood test in about 6 weeks and an increase may be given. If you have any clinical symptoms appearing always get a blood test and don't take 'normal' as a diagnosis always get a copy of your blood tests.
You probably know, but always take your levothyroxine first thing before breakfast with a full glass of water and eat about an hour later. Supplements should be taken at least 4 hours later.
If having a blood test try to have it as early as possible and take your meds afterwards as it can skew the results.
Yes bloods again in 2 months she said and told me everything to watch out for its just a relief to finally know i.m not nuts and there is something wrong with me .
