I have nearly finished our Annual Report for this year and now I need some quotes from people about what they think of Thyroid UK - both our website and our forum. No need for full names but we would like to put your first name! Look forward to hearing from you! Best wishes, Lyn

Thyroid UK supplies up to date information which greatly enhances the patient experience in what unfortunately continues to be a poorly resourced area in terms of medical training/education. The public are able to read current information from both lay person and the more informed medical perspective, which thankfully is beginning to turn the corner due to the hard work of this charity where the bottom line is support and education when there is precious else out there. ..just when you think you are doing the best you can to improve your health - another little gem emerges on the forum - and so we learn some more. Many people leave the forum when they discover their health - I personally think it is worth remaining just to learn and keep up to date with so much information. Important to keep ahead of the game- and to keep tweaking. Also very important to keep an open and flexible mind. With so many knowledgeable people around I am grateful for the many things I have learnt....thank you.....
We see quite a number of people drop in, get some help, and be on their way. In one way, that is completely understandable. But when things happen (like the Teva withdrawal, like Eltroxin unavailability, like the studies which backed bed-time dosing) those who stay get to know first - and at least sometimes in sufficient time to prepare and organise.
Not for one moment suggesting obsessive involvement but the odd look from time to time to keep broadly aware.
That also applies, possibly even more strongly, for the main Thyroid UK web site and membership of that.
Being a member of Thyroid UK is like being part of a family, all helping each other to learn so much more about our Thyroid problems that we didn't know.I'm very glad I found this forum. Margaret X
I am grateful to Thyroiduk.org for the information contained in the Website. Reading it encouraged me to look for answers as to why I felt worse on levothyroxine than I did before I was eventually diagnosed with a TSH of 100.
I am glad to say I am well now but, to do so, I had to go private so that I could have the freedom to try an alternative to levothyroxine as the NHS decrees that only levothyroxine is to be prescribed. If clinical symptoms persist they are treated as 'not due to the thyroid gland'. I found they where connected when I got properly medicated.
The Forum in Healthunlocked is invaluable due to the fact that questions/answers are answered by members who have had the same/similar problems and it encourages newcomers when they find out they are not alone and that there is support and a chance to get well despite the guidelines.
Thyroid UK is an invaluable thyroid information and advocacy resource which genuinely represents and promotes the interests of hypothyroid and hyperthyroid sufferers, rather than the entrenched views and prejudices of the medical establishment.
The forum is friendly and accessible, providing support, understanding and community to undiagnosed, mis-diagnosed, undertreated and desperate sufferers.
Thyroid UK is the first and best place for me to get support and information about thyroid health. Most importantly, you don't feel you are struggling on your own and any worries are quickly answered. It's great to see what works for some people and what doesn't. It's brilliant in showing how to deal with the medical profession so it helps rather than hinders your health.
