Hi I am newly diagnosed hyperthyroidism does anyone know if there is a support group in sheffield or rotherham south yorkshire?

Hi. I am in Rotherham too so would be interested in a support group for fellow hypers . I will be following this thread so fingers crossed Karen

Hi karen lets keep our fingers crossed surely there must be somewhere local.Do you mind me asking do you see an endo in rotherham or sheffield and is she/he good.I am waiting for my first appt not sure if hallamshire or northern general yet.Thanks for your reply

Hi karen First support group meeting is on Friday 21st feb at 11 oclock at st pauls hotel, peace gardens Sheffield city centre.Would love to see you there but dont worry if cant make it more are plannef at different days/times etc to reach as many people as poss ...kim

Hi mado the first support group meeting is on fri 21st feb at 11 oclock at st pauls hotel , peace gardens city centre, Hooe you can make it but if not there will be others on different dates....kim

I was there at 11.35 but got time wrong, but they said there is no meeting, I tried a few St. Paul's along the same block where cafe rouge is. How was it? Next time can it be a bit later like 12.30 please. Thanks

Hi mado so sorry you couldnt find us today.We eere at st pauls hotel near the peace gardens.Its the large hotel next to the silver globe water features, The staff there wouldn't have known it was a meeting as we didn't book a room just met in the bar longe so we just looked like friends having a coffee.It was just an informal chat swapping experiences and treatment options .We are going to have the next meeting on a saturday in April..Could you do 11 o'clock on a Saturday? We thought trying a weekend would gibe the people in work a chance to join in.I will send you a private message concerning my experience at the hospital, Take care

Ok that's fine, I went in there first. How many turned up? Can we please have a meeting at 1 or after as I have my grand daughter most Saturdays till 12. Thanks

If any of you wanted to start your own group then I would be happy to chat to them. I have a gathering at my house every 6 weeks. Talking to people online really helped me and I would have loved to have attended a group, so as soon as I felt up to it I started my own. Although I am in Solihull I see an Endo in Sheffield - at the Royal Hallamshire if anyone wants to ask me about that they can pm me and I will be happy to share my experience both really bad and good

I too will probably be there but in future I won't be able to make that time, 12.30 is a better time for me. Than you for organising it

Ok mado .I cant really take any credit wavylines snd silver fox are .I am just contactimg anyone who showed an interest. Will keep you imformef of future meetings
