Are these symptoms of thryroid problems? I am on block and replace for hyperthyriodism, and think I may now be slightly hypo. Worried about these unpleasant symptoms but forgot to check it with GP when I last saw her and wondered if anybody else has this experience?

Like above reply, I get this when my calcium is low. I've been on calcium supplements since total TT last November due to my parathyroid glands not working still. Before that I was on block and replace for Hyperthyroidism (have Graves disease) but don't remember getting pins and needles except for once badly in my left arm, but i think it was due to me messing around with my meds as had got p....off to put it mildly. I would see your Dr about it, it may be nothing much to worry about but better to get it checked out and put your mind at rest x

i have had this too both with low calcium but also when very hypo. It is slowly improving as my replacement increases.

I too have had it when hypo - my tingling/pins and needles were in my feet, hands and the top of my head - it was horrible :( It can also be a symptom of B12 deficiency (although mine was not from this). I think it would be sensible to have thyroid levels and B12 levels checked (and calcium - although I am not really familiar with this). xx

Thankyou - I will request checks for deficiencies and hypothyroidism. ;-)

It is also worth paying a visit to a chiropractor as it could also be a sign of a trapped nerve somewhere

Hi i also get pin& Needles and numbness in my hands & legs near enough everyday it could be that you have a trapped nurve or sitting or standing in the same position for too long..If your really worried about it my advice would make a appointment to see your. practice nurse or your GP .
