I have relatively recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Recent visit to endo didn't give me much information, but have started on 10mg Carbimazole daily. Wondered whether recent bloods suggest that the hyperthyroidism is as a result of Graves disease?
Bloods:
T4 28.2 (range 9-23)
TSH <0.01 (range 0.20-4.50)
T3 4.9 (range 1.1-2.6)
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibody 74 (range 0-35)
Thank you for your help.

Hi At least diagnosed, big step forward. I ass me the Endo did all the extra tests too. I would ask Endo`s sec, and if so, ask for a print out with ranges, like those. You have not said what treatment you are on.Also my Endo, who is very good ays the only reliable test for TFT3 is the Free T3 test, there are 2. I only know because the Lab did that one by mistake, it was too high and she said that it was useless,I had it redone and Free T3 was still well below range Has your Endo suggested you need a 24 hour urine test for Pituitary gland? It is normally done if low as a precaution I am not convinced that you are very Hyper.. You will need to have frequent retests, 6 weeks after the treatment and may be adjustments. It is possible to have the identical symptoms for Hypo to Hyper. Did the Endo recommend a thyroid ultra sound? It would be very useful as enlargement and nodules common? Nodules must always have a needle biopsy, under a second ultra sound.
A lot of GP`s and Endo`s etc now look at a low TSH and decide patient is Hyper. Mine is immeasuravble and I have quite bad Hypo , with all the trimmings!Of course, antibodies can be either.
Best wishes,
Jackie
