Does anyone take Nutri Thyroid supplement alongside Levothyroxine. If so have they noticed any improvement in their condition.
There are no contra indications listed but I have heard you may have to reduce your Levo dose.
Thanks

Put my T4 too high, but when I lowered my Levo I felt worse. Janet.
Hi, pussycatwillow. I have been taking Nutri Thyroid for about 6months now. I wasn't able to reduce my thyroxine but do feel better for taking it. I stopped taking it awhile ago to see if it was actually doing anything and I found myself feeling unwell. For me it seems to support the thyroid. Hope this is useful. Keep well.....

Hi Jen, thanks for reply. What dose levo do you take? My GP seems to think that I am doing fine on my levo despite the fact that I am still tired, cannot lose weight, etc. In fact it has just been increased to 125mg based on last blood tests. Just thought it may be worth supplementing with Nutri Thyroid.
I took it when I was unmedicated, Reduced my TSH from 4 point something to 2 point something, but I didn't feel any different.
Starting on nutri adrenal extra and was advised to build up to 8 tablets a day...sounds like an awful lot to me. Rang the office today who confirmed that this was correct and to build up the usage over a few weeks.
I tried earlier in the year! My GP kept insisting I was over medicating and asked me to cut down. My heart rate was slightly raised but I did say to her that a lot of my symptoms could also be due to under medicating which she acknowledged but said preferred to think I was over. What sort of reply was that! That confirmed I was in my own. I had another exciting holiday planned driving round Europe where I do about 3,000 + miles over a three week period so I knew I needed to be on top of my game! I started introducing the Nutri thyroid and started to feel better. Then I dropped my Levo down a little. I got around Europe but was this due to a feel good factor or tackling this myself or the D3 I was now taking? I was also nervous though that may be I wasn't dropping my Levo enough. By now I was rejoicing that my GP had left the surgery and the new one was using thyroid related words that I said I never thought I should hear there! She agreed to help me and work with me but did say hands tied over some things but would be duty bound to tell me of pitfalls etc but on the other hand believes in patient choice! Accepting this and wanting not to alienate I've opted to go down the mineral/vitamin route first and see what happens so my Levo is back up to where it was and the Nutri back in the cupboard. The proof that it certainly was having an effect on my body though that wasn't just the feel good factor was that my underarm hair, absent for many years, was returning and now I am no longer taking it its disappeared again. I am starting to feel better, currently taking D3, Folic acid, B12, selenium and this week added zinc. My biggest worry at the moment is my temperature is all over the place but at the moment looking at one thing at a time. Sorry so long but its a complex journey as we all know
I have hashis - After seeing dr p after many years on100/125 Levo and feeling terrible I moved onto nutri adrenal extra & nutri thyroid (along with b12, folate & d3) gradually building up to 4 NAX and 9 NT per day. After around 6 months I cut back Levo to 50 mcg as got a bit jittery. After about 15months I cut down gradually to 1 NAX and between 6-9 NT and cut out Levo altogether - haven't felt this good in years! Will be interesting to see next set of bloods but basically whilst I feel much better i will continue. Can't stress enough how important the vits are in the equation - seems that my deoidanase enzymes had failed (therefore poor conversion) much reading later and I have better understanding of the vits/minerals required for these chemical processes to work. Just had to get used to taking handfuls of tablets every day but small price to pay to get health back
