The vitamin D council (a US organisation) has produced a booklet entitled "Vitamin D: Your guide to understanding vitamin D", which can be downloaded free from here:

vitamindcouncil.org/wp-cont...

Haven't yet read it myself, so can't comment on the content. Hopefully it will be helpful to those who are only just beginning to understand the significance of this long neglected health issue :)

I also don't know how long it will be available for free, or from the link above, so apologies in advance if you come across this post at some future date and find the link no longer works .

Thank you RedApple, that is absolutely brilliant. x

if you search for Vitamin D there's 1924 on HU Thyroid support alone - it's a popular subject!

Here's another good leaflet courtesy of the Osteoporosis society (meant for GPs really)

Unfortunately no reference to Hypothyroidism. I was hoping that the optimisation of Vit D and Vit B12 might be referenced in their role to improve conversion from T4 to T3. My GP refuses to acknowledge this and consequently will not facilitate Vit D testing. The CCG will only test with convincing medical reason. Nevertheless a very good document.

Downloaded... Thank you!
