To enable us to reply, you have to post your results and the ranges should be in brackets beside them.

Labs throughout the country use different ranges that's why we need figures.

I don't have the ranges only the results. From the greater London area

Each and every lab might be using different ranges. Only if you are specific enough about an area that has only one lab could a guess based on location work.

Sorry it would still be a guess. Ask your GP surgery for the reference ranges.

if you contact your gp and request .....the full results of all tests done AND THE RANGES USED he/she has to provide the information ----- which would allow the good people on this site to help you dissect the numbers ---- I had exactly the same problem at first and was puppy walked through it brilliantly ......remember knowledge is the real power ........LoL alan xx

ok what if my tests were done at hospital by consultant endo. I am due to see again because i kicked up a fuss due to being told nothing wrong when I have had PCOS since 12yr old now 27 and then results magically showed I did. I have asked for all tests done by a DR Malcolm Prentice to be repeated. He has agreed but means i have a three month wait.

I was referred to a hospital Endo Consultant the first time I asked her a question and she couldn't answer! He never really asked about my thyroid or how I felt and didn't examine me but did some bloods. Consequently I was put on D3 and was very low so grateful for that BUT the only thyroid test he asked for was TSH-I copied everything down from the lab requested prior to arriving to have the blood taken. My results came in the form of a letter with no ranges! At my follow up appointment I asked why he had requested FT 3 when I d asked and he said he wouldn't! He denied ever saying that! I then said I was very grateful it had been done but what was the ranges. He told me I didn't need to know! I said I wanted then, there was someone sitting in, don't know if that changed his mind but he only told me the top of the range and wouldn't tell me the other. I later range his secretary and asked for my labs report-prof doesn't give them out as you won't understand them! He rang me and I said I haven't had the report so he apologised and would resend. I also had asked at the surgery, they hadn't had them either, just a letter. So I was sent my results bit when it came it was a copy more or less of the original letter. I needed to make more of an impact so asked to see the practise manager. He asked why I wanted them-to go on my records. Got the impression only faulty things go on my record so wasn't happy with that either! He saw my predicament eventually but said he couldn't request it would have to be a GP. He later rang to say he had them and normally there was a charge of £25 for the letter the GP had written to the hospital but under the circumstances he would waive that! He also said that it was up to the practise nurse whether these would be entered in my notes so again said even if considered normal I wanted them included. I later went to see the doctor who had submitted my request, my usual GP had just retired. The new one is very helpful and says she will help be but has restraints but she also believes in patient choice so that's a real positive outcome but we shouldn't have to fight like this. Requesting labs should need a phone call giving name and hospital number and results faxed back to GP. Made me so angry. I posted results on here and had suggestions of conversation problem and RT3 so started with thing GP has no problem with and started supplementing.
