I have had pink eyes and they have been watering for the last 10 days could this be anything to do with my thyriod condition
You don't say whether you are under or overactive, but both can affect the eyes. In the case of hypothyroidism, it can cause dry irritated eyes and usually artificial tears will address the problem, until the hypothyroidism is optimally treated..
With overactive thyroid caused by Graves' it is important to be seen by a Thyroid Eye Disease Specialist, as this can be quite damaging to the eyes and may need treatment with Steroids.
The best thing to do is to get medical advice because it is also possible that it could be an infection.

Hi Marie , Thank you for your reply ,I have an under active thyroid , I went to the doctors last week and was given drops for an infection but these did not clear the problem,Today i have seen the doctor again and he said it could be an allergy and it is not to do with my thyroid as my tests came back clear last week , Kay xx
'Pink eye' (conjunctivitis) is a notifiable infection in the same way that measles is. The eyeball becomes red/pink, is usually (but not necessarily) painful and weeps a lot, leading to crusty eyes (yuk!) in the mornings. Although I'm the first to say avoid antibiotics if at all possible, it is probable that if you have conjunctivitis that is what you'll need to shift it. I had Pink Eye 4 or 5 times in one year a couple years ago; it was misery - so sympathies! Once it latches on to you it can be hard to shift.
My eyes have been really watery these last weeks, besides dry eyes as a symptom of the thyroid, it is helpful to note that central heating which most now have turned on can cause this, as does cold weather, gazing at a computer screen and reading a lot as we tend to stare and do not blink enough. I am making a concerted effort to blink more.
Thank you I do use the computer quite a lot so may be that is whats making my eyes pink I will stop using it for a while and see if that helps
