I used to get that when I was on Carbimazole, make sure you go to the doctor if you are not well, because your white blood cells could drop and if necessary he can give you antibiotics or something.

I was very tired much of the time I was on Carb.

I was fairly ok but I did get swollen glands from time to time. First time I had the blood test which came back fine and after that I thought I would probably be feeling very ill if it was a reaction to the carb. And as I didn't have a temperature or mouth ulcers then I just waited to see what happened and it was never anything.

My pharmacist did say to take Vit C with it which I had been doing since I had some dental work done and the dentist recommended it so I just carried on with the Vit C so I take 1000mcg slow release Vit C with zinc every day, also take CoQ10 and an A-Z multivitamin.

Hope you feel better soon.

I felt ok most of the time on B&R, I started on 20mcg carb last December which was increased to 40 mcg a day half way through January. By the time I visited my endo at the end of February I was very hypo. Started on 50mcg levo which was gradually raised until I was taking 75/100mcg on alternate days. I found that when it was raised I felt great for about five or six weeks then I felt rough again, first time my levo was raised I had been having palpitations and thought I might be hyper but someone on here said I might be needing an increase which turned out to be the case, second time I needed an increase I was SO cold all the time, cold right from my core - it was awful, I was wearing a quilted duvet coat, scarf, gloves, verse etc etc in June/ July. Once my levo was increased I was back to normal and felt good. I started to feel as if I needed more just before my last hospital visit then when I got there I was told I was stopping B&R which came as a surprise because I thought I was going to be on it for longer however that was over a week ago and so far I feel ok. Your time on B&R needn't necessarily be rocky mine was mostly ok and I could do the sort of things I had always done, walking, cycling, working. You could quite easily be fine once you get into the swing of it :-)

HI Jessie,

In Feb my T4 was nearly 70, asked to go on B and R but decided to go for up and down titration of drug according to monthly blood tests, by October down to 2.54mg of carb (from 40mg) ...... it's worked for me as has giving up wheat, caffeine, cutting down booze and sorting out diet and supplements to support gut health.... feeling fine (touch wood) you may just have a a bug at present....... I got thrush twice in early days of carb and tingling in hands - told it was carpal tunnel but has since gone as drug reduced. You can opt for this, despite GP's initial OH no! It's been fine xx
