Hi

Well I would always recommend a good quality one for a start! Don't waste ya money on a cheap brand. Do you have any gut issues? What ever you take needs to be bio available .

Hi It is important with thyroid conditions ( according to my Endo) to take the very best multi vit and minerals. Minerals actually more important. I tablet. They do all vary tremendously and not always the full details on the bottle. When I went on them I found the best on on healthspan WEB, free delivery, raesonable price and I use the Gold Standard one.

Best wishes,

Jackie

My Doctor prescribes mine. I'm on Sanatagen Gold.

Hi

I would suggest a Solgar multi vitamin. Solgar is a very good product and has good ingredients unlike some other products that don't match their quality. They be a little more expensive but they are worth it. I would also suggest seeing a kinesiologist as they can advice on a good multivitamin as well as other supplements you may need to assist you body, immune system and thyroid.

Hope this helps

Hi, I buy natures plus source of life liquid gold from the nutri centre. It is quite expensive but you do get a discount if you are a thyroid UK member. I stopped taking if for a month or so as I felt ok and I really noticed the difference. Good luck!

for my research on supplements, i found not just brand and what fillers they use but just as important are the sources & quantities of the ingredients, no one pill could satisfy all your needs and your eating regime makes a big difference as well - staying as pure and well rounded a diet as possible, the brands one can trust for best absorption and proper quantity ingredients are swanson, solgar, lamberts, now, some healthspan and steer clear of most others--they may be cheap but so is the quality and quantity of ingredient & i don't mean how many actual pills there are but --for instance some pills are offering very low doses of the vitamin or mineral you actually need, thus keeping their cost down-but not giving you anywhere near the true doses you need.. some supplements are better taken as individual tabs otherwise one is way under dosing vit d is one example, most multiples do not provide enough-i use swanson albion chelated multi-mineral, as a good base to start with-they give one of best potassium levels of just about any brand, lamberts make a great timed released vit c 500mg,and good'n natural make a quality sea kelp, so the bottom line is-you can't really go wrong with those brands when looking for a good multiple vitamin, just watch out for too much vitamin a, and if there is no a, then you good increase the how many you take, like i said no one pill will do it all, individual of some is better, i don't take a vitamin per say but many indiv, but the multi mineral is best from swanson--cheap is not cheerful they use cheap useless ingredients money down the loo.. hope this helps p.s. i have loads more info on what i take if you need more info & don't go by recommended daily allowances usually far too low for what your body & thyroid need..

Whatever supplements you take, you must leave four hours between thyroid meds and supplements.

A Kiniesiologist will reccommend a multivitamin that is just right for your body. I went to see mine Kiniesiologist for the first time yesterday. Interesting session. No supplements as yet but I think it's because my body became overwhelmed so getting a weeks break. Will update you next Friday!

Do you mean a Kinesiologist or an Applied kinesiologist?

:-) Thanks for the clarification.

I was recently advised to look up Nutri Plus for their supplements which are all naturally sourced rather than vitamins and minerals which i usually take. I think i may give them a go. Lots of product and source info on their website.

6 tablets provide the following:Glucosamine Complex (equal parts glucosamine sulfate 2KCl & HCl) 1200 mg †

Chondroitin Sulfate 600 mg 6???in their Joint Mobility Formula ; truly astonishing low quantities of ingredients when most certified brands contain these amounts in 1 cap--not 6... other of their products do not list how much of each ingredient is in how many pills--they talk a good talk BUT-- John Heinerman may have only taken a one year course-many american pill companies-sell a bill of goods--just look at the amount of ingredients and you will get a true full picture & and not just the hype- sorry for the truth, but wouldn't want others to spend much for so little .. and to spend all day popping loads of pills..don't shoot the messenger please ta

Natures Own is a food state. So when digesting your body thinks yummy this is food I will process it - rather than urrghh this is weird I will pee it out. That's the theory and Natures Own are a reliable brand of food state minerals and vits.

I take Natures Own -very good! I always notice if I miss a few days.

it does not state 100% organic/ rather that some of the ingredients-herbs are, so careful label reading is all so important yet again-- amway was a company that made cleaning products sold door to door--then pet foods,in the states-wonder when they branched out into the lucrative vitamin market.. sort of like monsanto used to make linoleum flooring back in the fifties and sixties then ventured into garden chemicals then GM --the U.S. has spawned some very interesting corporations, but i digress read labels is my real message... nuff said
