Well that was a clever thing to do. .....

Saturday morning and I am cleaning the bathroom.

Some idiot hammers like heck on my door, sending my 2 jack russells in a frenzy.

I start down the stairs, did 3 steps ok, missed a load, hit the 4th from the bottom, scraping my boot on the wall and landing in a heap on my left side with my arm outstretched.

I stagger up, open the door, stupid taxi driver asks if I had ordered a taxi. I angrily said no I f-ing didn't, shut the door, wobbled into the living room and rang hubby, then collapsed crying.

3 hours in a&e, doc and nurses cannot believe that I have not broken anything, only have muscle strain, shoulder ligament is pulled, bruising to my upper left ribs, left shin and on my right forearm. I also ripped off half the sole of my new boots!

So I seem to have a case of torretts as hubby keeps making me laugh, and if he plays the eastenders tune once more, I am going to be a widow!

And I went to work Sunday, but am so regretting it as I hurt like a sumbitch now!

Hope your weekend was better than mine lol

Ann xx

so sorry to hear of your dilemma , but if you will forgive me for having a little giggle at the thought of it happening --- i'm only human -- really happy that at least your hubby seems to be able to make you laugh about it .....its better than dwelling on it and can help so much ===== it sounds like you have a good one there !!!!! ....<<hugs>> ....alan

Aww. Feel better. I suspect it hurts not ONLY when you laugh? You tell a good story and can see the funny side. I honestly believe that helps things heal. And, on top of it all, the boots! Aww.

Last year i fell out of a loft and only hurt my foot which I banged on the way down. I was thinking how strong my bones must be till I realised that it was my excess padding that saved me. X

And you didn't land on or trip over a dog? They must be fast little beggars. My poodles are conspiring against me, I swear.

I was on a motorcycling break in the lakes with my hubby. My friend was looking after our son, and we were at my friends B and B, having a wonderful time, red hot weather, beautiful lakes, great roads. Walking up Keswick high st in a PAVED pedestrian area, I slipped on a TINY curb, and fractured my ankle in two places. Off to A and E came out with crutches again and a pot on. Green Flag took my lovely 700 cc bike home on a truck, I got sick of my pals going, " enjoy your break in the lakes then ". They were convinced I fell off my bike. Lol. Still having trouble with the ankle. I got so laughed at. He he he.

I have friends like that too, especially when I tripped up on holiday in Wales. Did you enjoy your trip etc x

I badly sprained my ankle, or so we were told, 20 years ago.

On and off over the years I have been to physio and allsorts as it plays up from time to time.

Earlier this year, the doc sent me to see the podiatrist to see if they could help. My ankle has dropped and I am very flat footed on the one side. Got me a sexy pair of arch supports lol

She sent me for a cat scan as I said it was painful deep in the joint.

she was stunned by the result. I have an Osteochondral lesion of the talus. Basically I have taken a chunk out of the enamel on the big bone of my foot, what your ankle stacks on. She said that in her 25 plus years in the job, has never seen that injury in that place!

Am special lol

Did a similar thing a few years ago. Foot slipped on the stairs and I landed with a bang at the bottom with my bum on my left ankle. A friend took me to our local hospital minor injuries unit. They thought I'd broken it and sent me to a larger hospital. They x-rayed me and said it was just a bad sprain. I was given a typed sheet of instructions, which included the advice to alternately apply heat and then cold in the form of a pack of frozen peas. It went on to say "do not eat the peas".

PS - Hope you're starting to feel a bit better.
