Are there any good articles on T3 that anyone would recommend.
Well known in the States- this varied view by Lowe may be of interest.

I've never taken T3 so have kept it as a ready reference. It does cover quite a range of issues but bear in mind many things won't apply here directly in terms of user experience due to UK guidelines.
This is about reverse T3 and also T3. thyroid-rt3.com/backgrou.htm
Paul Robinson's book, "Recovering With T3" and website
Facebook page,
He is brilliant, he actually private messaged me on Facebook the other night for over an hour,.. he's such a caring, loving man, he's wonderful xx he saved my sanity and gave me the courage to leave my husband, ..Mr Negative.. He was making me much iller by being so pessimisticand controlling.. So now I am now miles away in my favourite seaside town of Whitby, England, I am stronger than ever and so empowered I could challenge the whole wide world, God Bless Him xxxxx
It's just a crying shame that I have to be back in my now hated hometown Bradford for 3 very important hospital appointments on Tuesday,Wednesday and Friday. God only knows where I can stay here because I am certainly not going back to my bungalow I think that place is jinxed. Xxxx
Hello,
Not sure about links on line but I would certain recommend a book called recovering with T3 - Its packed full of info
I got this in my email and really, it says it all, check it out: jeffreydachmd.com/thyroid-p... This doctor lives in Davies, Florida but his research is top notch!
Good Docs aren't dead- they just may be in hiding.
This one, fortunately, is neither and talks good medicine.
I am low in Magnesium, just on minimum after a year of taking it.
GPs blithely ignore this after agreeing my supplementing it, testing for it at my request - and Endo comments 'multiple meds sensitivity'. Ho Hum...
I have just posted this info on another thread but I was on T3 for a few years because the Levothyroxine Wasn't working and my t3 blood was result was out.
I had several bowel complaints at the time and cut Gluten out of my diet, by day 6 Gluten free I was overdosing on the T3 because the Levothyroxine had started working propery. I have been Gluten free for 5 years and just take Levothyroxine and my t3 levels are normal.
My doctors don't know what to make of it but it seems obvious to me.
I've never checked it out- but Gluten molecules are supposed to look like thyroid hormones to the immune system. Sorry, haven't got the article.
They even come butterfly shaped which is natures joke, I reckon!
Hi I am actually coeliac and have been completely gluten free for 10 years so it doesn't appear to be gluten related. I don't even eat anything from the free from aisle as I can't even tolerate the allowed 20ppm in gluten free food or codex wheat. Thanks for the thought but there must be something else plus I have 3 hormone systems not working as I also have hyperaldosterone and hyperparathyroidism as well as the Hashimotos
Sorry to hear your ongoing plight Mia, but you are an order above simple gluten intolerance. ie: Your situation is not marginal but gives severe reactions to hormonal dysfunctions.
Are you stikll looking for a decent diagnosis as to cause(s), then?
Sounds like a lot to carry .. What treatment are you on for Hashis?
I am on 250 mcg of thyroxine. Plus I am on 6 different high blood pressure and heart problems, water tablets plus 3 tablets for high cholesterol and high triglycerides plus a high dose of Vitamin D. None of which seems to work. I am also on a no caffeine, low salt, low fat diet of poultry, fish, veg and fruit but I have not lost a single pound. I am definetly trying to get a decent diagnosis because all I get is treatment for various symptoms.
I can see why you enquire after T3 now
You must get plenty of blood tests done on your regime so have you ever got a serum Free T3 result?
It's not a magic bullet- but with Reverse T3 could show if you're making good use of the T4, a hefty enough dose.
Have you ever tried the daily Temperature check first thing before anything else to see how low it typically is?
That would tell you a lot - though GPs will ignore such obvious results easily enough.
PS: I've just checked your 10 day old thread with more info on it.
Marz gave some good advice there. I didn't realise you've been on T3 and stopped. Was this for the cardio issues?
The High TPo abs are' Hashi bound', as you probably know, but you do need the Cardio and Endo in the same room with you!
Yes I think I do. No when I came to Italy the endo here thought I only needed T4 as my blood pressure was very high and they had discovered the high calcium and the hyperparathyroidism so put me on 125mcg of thyroxine, then my TSH climbed and my T4 dropped and they discovered nodules. Then they raised my thyroxine to 175mcg but my T4 and T3 still kept dropping and my TSH and Anti TPO kept climbing and my BP wouldn't stabilise. Then they discovered low Vit D and high Calcium and High Potassium and a further drop in my T4 and T3 so they raised my thyroxine to 200mcg. I kept asking to reinstate my T3. Then I had a small stroke and a heart problem which they diagnosed as left ventricular hypertrophy and hypertensive cardiac disease. They put me on a 24hr BP test which showed that I had very unstable BP and they raised my thyroxine to 225 then my T4, T3 and TSH dropped further but my anti TPO went up and they have raised my thyroxine to 250 mcg. My temp this morning was 34.7 and tonight was 34.5.
Can I ask you why no one has looked into taking out your parathyroid? If the parathyroid is not right then nothing in he body will be right.
Moggie x
They do want to take out my parathyroid but my BP is so unstable and my heart is not good so they don't want to operate until they get my BP down and stable.
They are probably treading warily and you are obviously going through it.
Somewhere in all that glandular chaos may lie a key that can be turned but maybe the short term instablities are not allowing a longer term approach.
There are likely many risks involved in your treatment on this basis- but the BP can be tricky to nail. I was there for years.Multiple meds @ low dose are best for me. Others put BP up!
Are you feeling under stress continually with your conditions or lifestyle?
You sound very steady minded- but your body is getting tired.
It sounds like you have a good team looking after you so maybe more time is needed.
On the surface it may be that very low T3 med back in would show 'if a good move' - but as they don't do it much in Italy you may need a Endo there who can stretch out for it.
If that is refused then that may be the best case for you, right now - for stabilty.
[Do you cope OK with the T4, generally?]
