I did as doctor asked and cut levo down to 75 from 100, but come down with terrible cramp during the night, didn't even have to stretch, just bending my legs caused really bad cramp in the calves, when I tried to get out of bed to get rid of the cramps found it very difficult to stand at times and fell back on the bed. Also middle finger when numb and one of my heals, then later my big toe was very painful. Had a blood test after first three months and was told I was borderline and to have another blood test in 3 months. I was going to go back to the doctor but I thought I would do as they asked, but the cramp and numbness still present. I am due for another blood test next month.

This is a link and if you read the answer to the question, you will read the explanation of lowering meds due only to your TSH blood test result. Go to date January 25, 2002

I used to have a lot of trouble with cramp. Even turning over in bed could cause it and make me really miserable. I found that my Vit D was very low and once I had got that sorted out, plus taking magnesium, the cramps almost ceased...just the odd twitch now and then. It was just a case of helping myself really, doing a lot of reading and getting help from this site.

Hi Cramp is often below range sodium ( U`s and E`s) ,however the blood test does not really show what is in the cells and eating more has little effect except harm the heart.
