Hi

The main tests are for iron, ferritin, Vit B12, folate, and Vit D All have to be in top third of the range to make your thyroid meds work properly. Also antibodies but I am not sure the actual name of the test, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along

Hope this helps

Best wishes browny

Thyroid anti - bodies

Haemoglobin A1c

Thankyou, I am interested that you suggest to test Oestrogen and Testosterone, I am trying to help my 23 year old daughter regain her health and every month she really crashes with symptoms that feel like when she was first diagnosed with Hashi., although Dr say she is fine with TSH of 1.6 . Dr wants her to take pill to regulate hormones though they have never tested them .She tookpill a few years ago and felt very ill, before hashi diagnosis (Her TSH was then over 100 !

Hello

You are right to be concerned . You Doctor is misguided and wrong . My TSH readings have read to my Endocrinologist as " Normal " and my symptoms were worse and she could see

the evidence sitting across the desk from her . Ignored by her . Incompetent , unprofessional

and craven and dangerous .

Hormones run our bodies .

If there is an oestrogen imbalance and normal progesterone it can cause Hypothyroid systems.

Oestrogen and Progesterone imbalance must be brought back into balance = Blood tests .

So , insist upon blood tests before she swallows the ' pill ' . You and she and her Doctor must

know exactly and in scientific detail the level of oestrogen and progesterone in her system .

Hers are 2 sites to visit for starters . Clear and concise .

1 . Body + Soul . All about hormones . Very good overview . An Australian site .

2 . Naturone - Natural Hormone products . USA . Ignore the advertising as beneath you .

And hormone testing is not just a one off ... Repeat until the daughter you gave birth to and love

is recovering from this imbalance .

And I swear by the website and You Tube videos of :

Dr David Clark . Functional Neurologist . USA . There is so much offered and the result of the latest scientific research . Navigate your way with your daughter through these videos .

Dr Clark is wildly enthusiastic . The advice is free . The advice is factual and bases on research

which is peer reviewed .

And DIET is of the essence . Go to Mary Shomon ' s website . Navigate . And then go back and listen to what Dr Clark has to say on the foods / substances which aggravate Auto - Immune

systems .

Your daughter has a long life of wonder ahead of her and she has the human right to live it

at the highest and happiest levels ...

Jingle Bells , almost ...

Thankyou for your thoughts , yes I agree that Dr is only concerned with the paperwork and numbers before him,but I can see she is not well. Will helpget a hormone test, and also going to look at going down Nutritional Therapy route re diet etc Thanks again for your kind words. Hope its not too hot with you ,can't imagine a BBQ at Christmas !!!(mind you we are lucky if it's warm enough here to have many in the summer) Ha ,!! val
