Armour

Hi all a friend of mine has just been prescribed armour 2 1/2 grains, she was previously taking levo, then went onto levo plus t3 but could not get on with it, so now taking armour 2 days at 1/2 grain twice per day, she says she feels very hypo can you advise when she can increase again please as she doesnt want to go to fast, thank you x

Personally I had to incease very slowly, but I think Dr S recommends increases every 3-4 weeks (hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong).. What dose of T3/T4 was she on before hand? xx

Dr skinner wants you to increase 1/2 grain every 4 weeks which made me very ill. I increased 1 grain every 3 weeks and that was the right speed for me. I am on 3 grains after 9 weeks and will now slow it down but I expect i will increase again 1/2 grain in a couple of weeks. If you increase too slow you will have mini crashes every couple of weeks. I also take all 3 grain at once and I feel relatively good the whole day, no dips pm.

It is a very personal thing. I started with 1/2 a grain twice a day and felt awful so increase by half a grain every week until I got to about 2.5 grains. Then I started increasing by 1/2 grain every couple of weeks and then only every 4-6 weeks depending on how I felt until I got to 4.5 grains. I also take mine all in one go at night and sleep like a baby
