Since having tumour and side of thyroid removed I am loosing weight and feeling good. Was never diagnosed as hypo but can some become hyper after this kind of op
Can you become hyper: Since having tumour and... - Thyroid UK
Can you become hyper
yes you can if you take too much medicine.. you may find that you need a little less in the good weather and a little more in the winter.. DOON'T tell your doctor, they'll reduce your dose and you may not get it back up again when you need it in the winter because they don't understand that
so.. if it's uncomfortable for you, take a little less medication... take your temperature every morning and evening and aim for normal.. if you're hot then you are hyper if you are cold then you're hypo.. easy!
Being hyper for a short time (British summer) won't harm you (unless you have a heart condition) but long term it's not good for you.. enjoy losing the weight and ease off on your meds if your temp is high is my advice
Good luck
I haven't taken any mess at all . Had the op to remove tumour and right side off thyroid , went home day later and pretty much been left too it. Some one said I was supposed to have a blood test to check remaining part of thyroid was working but nothing at all . I actually mentioned in another post that I have had to chase my results of tumour
Yes chase YOUR results - please! & see other reply about the 6 weeks follow up J x
Results good . Will have follow up appointment but still been left too it but feel good
