Levo and citalopram...

I know some meds can't be taken with your levo but i was wondering about citalopram antidepressants? Ive been taking them together since starting levo last summer...

Personally, I would take any supplements, etc. 4 hours after taking thyroid hormone.

Did your GP do a free T3 blood test because if your T3 is low, it maybe the cause of depression. Our brains have the most T3 cells in our bodies and sometimes levo doesn't convert properly into enough T3.

Thank you Shaws. Im getting a copy of my bloods later on today... Ive started taking them separate over the weekend.

Next time you have a blood test, if you possibly can, have it as early in the morning as possible and don't take your thyroid meds until afterwards. If you take your meds at bedtime, miss this dose and take afterwards. Always get copies of your blood test results, complete with ranges for your own reference and you can always post here if you have a query. If you haven't had a Vit B12, VitD, iron, ferritin and folate, ask for them to be done as the first two in particular are usually low.
