Hi and welcome
As you are probably aware if you are already a member of the Fibromyalgia community, the site has been upgraded and there are some technical issues. Please bear with us. We will try to answer your questions as quickly and fully as we can. If you don't get responses don't despair, we are not getting email notifications at the moment which makes things a little tricky.

Repeat what CarolynB said above!
When the dust has settled, you could email/contact HU to ask them to change your identity. (Think they won't be wanting anything more to do at this precise moment.) We have had a few who have done that in the past.

Hi. I think you'll find your fibro is caused by your thyroid problems.
I have had fibro for years only disgnosed 3 years go but probably had it for about 15 years - started getting thyroid problems just about 18 months ish am upto 175mg levothyroxine can't seem to even out!
I think what rosetrees is saying is that some people with fibro actually have borderline hypothyroidism that is causing it. That's not always the case but the two do seem to go hand in hand far too often for comfort! It could be that you have been borderline hypothyroid for years but it is only now giving you other symptoms and bad enough blood tests to be diagnosed.
I was borderline for many years (about 10 or so) before being diagnosed but for me it caused mental illness. After getting treatment for my thyroid (when if finally got bad enough to treat) my mental illness got better. Now that I am very much better, I have no mental health problems at all
We're not saying it is the cause of your fibro, but it could be. It could be a contributing factor but it also might not be. If it is related to your thyroid, the good news is that it should improve after getting your thyroid sorted out. I really hope that is the case. It would be good to nail two illnesses on the head with one hammer, wouldn't it
Thanks everyone if you're all as friendly as the fibro family looking forward to meeting you all
Welcome to the site!
Something I found useful when I was recently diagnosed as hypothyroid is this list of symptoms: thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...
When you get blood tests or medication then come and make a post and we can give advice on them. Many people get better with the standard levothyroxine treatment but there are other treatments available if you don't. Also it's common for patients to be told by their GP that they are "normal" when their blood tests fall within the reference ranges but patients can still have symptoms and may need to be in the upper part of the reference range. We can give you information on this if this is what happens to you too, it just depends on your symptoms as well as your blood tests. We're all individual on how we respond to treatment!
All the best,
Totoro x
